As you now I have a 1990 celica GTS.
I just bought kwongs tires and rims. Now I want to put bigger rotors and calipairs front &rear. Drilled and sloted?? I need some help here I don't have a clue as to what to look for.
I also want a good header& a cat back exuast system...
Links and info would be great :)

According to what i have read, an i have read from many sources, the drilled rotors get stress cracks around the holes when you brake heavily... The slots take the gasses off of the surface of the rotor and give better braking under all conditions. Now, if I'm wrong please correct me, i dont want to get smashed on...

I am not racing around and breaking hard I want the cool factor..With stopping power when needed!
I have some nice looking rims now I need some nice rotors to go with them

A friend of mine is in a Celica car club. He loves his all-trac & are having a meet next weekend. I'll ask him tomorrow & I'll give u an answer. There's also a website they have that might interest ya. LYK tomorrow.

That would be cool..

Get slotted if they're OEM replacement. You can get drilled, but from what I hear, they're overall not as good as just slotted. Also, don't get drilled AND slotted OEM replacement rotors, they're supposed to dissapate too much heat and actually hurt stopping power.

If it's a cool factor and stopping power, do a big brake upgrade in the front, and then OEM replacement in the rear. Or you could just upgrade the brake pads in the rear, rear brakes dont' give a whole lot of stopping power anyways.

If you do a big brake upgrade in the rear (although I doubt one exists), you'll need to get a manual brake bias controller otherwise the rears will lock up before the fronts, and it'll be EXTREMELY dangerous.

But seriously, don't waste your money on that. Just get a big brake upgrade in the front, and at max, just replace the rear rotors with slotted OEM replacement rotors and upgraded pads.

Also, about the big brake kit in the front, I believe you can get away from having both drilled and slotted rotors. Contact Stoptech, they have some really good poop, but expensive ($1700)

i run racing brake brand slotted rotors front and rear with mintex red box pads. all the stopping power i need, enough to make someone foolish enough not to wear a seatbelt in my car eat windshield from any speed. I've locked em up doing 70 already. i highly advise against crossdrilled, because there are very few companies that make them properly, and those that do, charge a hell of a lot for them. slotted dissipate gasses properly while maintaining a high percentage of pad to rotor contact.

companies to look into for upgrade kits include, stoptech, baer, wilwood, brembo, alcon, racing brake, and a few more I'm sure I'm forgetting. just check those brands out to see if they make an upgrade kit for your car.

also the alltrac is an AWD turbo w/liquid intercooler version of your celica, they were made in the previous body style, the one that you have, and the next newer body style, however the last one wasn't available in the US that I'm aware of. the engine was very similar if not identical to the one used in the MR2 Turbo produced at the same time.

Stoptech OEM slotted rotors are right around $200 for a pair...is that the same as crossdrilled? lol

Anyhoo, zandor's celica was the last gen that were available as an alltrac. Both generation alltracs had a 3sgte engine.

Zandor,

My friend said to get the Brembo brakes. And get the rotors slotted not drilled because they crack. You can find them at your performance shop, online & ebay.

Anyother info LMK.

Wow I think this is the first 1:1 car thread I've seen here where one of the pups in the group didn't start telling you to put a ridiculous engine in it and dump a gazillion dollars into something.....

Put a super charged, nitre burning, turbo jet motor in it and use a parachute for some real stopping power.

Couldn't disappoint the fish lOL
