My uncle says he might still have his ancient xxt somewhere in his house. If he finds it maybe I can take it over and try to revive it. Put a 17.5 combo in there, or possibly a brushed system if I really want old school. But I don't know what parts support looks like for these. If parts are rare, would it be better to have it as a display car?

Old stadium trucks are just plain cool in my book. Download the manual and start your search for key tranny/drivetrain parts. I'd start with eBay when looking for parts for older discontinued RCs. You should get a good indication of time and effort it would take to keep things up and running. Buying a used roller is sometimes the quickest way to get a part.

It happens all the time. Just the other day I came across people who bought some older RCs. Apparently, the cheap price tag was too much of a lure. Then they found out most likely why the seller was selling them... parts are far and few between. Some people get a kick out of restorations of an old favorite RC, but when a person wants to get things moving along quickly and has to pay $50 for a $2 part... only you can be the judge of how you want to proceed.

A XXT would be a most excellent choice for getting up and running though.

Cool let us know what happens if you get it and restore it, I'm currently deciding if i'm going to rebuild\restore my XO-1 or just give up on my old one and get a new RTR XO-1. I had a Team Losi Mini T 1.0 when i was little which essentially the mini version of the Team Losi XXX-T you're talking about.

eBay is about the only place you will find parts for it. A lot of the parts are still available, but I'm not sure if there is anything not available. The last time I messed with one was 3+ years ago, but, just doing a quick eBay search for Losi XXT parts brought up a bunch of results.

I used to like restoring old RC's to at least roller status, but, except for the original Arrma 2WD, I just don't bother much anymore, although, I have thought about picking up an HPI Blitz off and on.

I just bought an ebay OG optima mid.
I'm gonna do a full restification on this one.
I have my OG Optima from 30 years ago. I'm not really good with putting it back on the track to get banged up. Certainly not now while I'm basicly a brand nw driver again.
I bought this one so I could feel good about running this one. I'm already seeing an issue with my plan though.
I have BIG plans for a build on this one too. I might have 2 shelf queens when I'm through.

Any word on if this xxt still xxists still?
🤔

If you get the xx you don't need to overhaul it just clean and lube bearings and possibly a 2.4 hrtz radio and go racing.
