i got the 4ws set up on the rEcon-maxx and with just a servo lead spliter both tires turn the same direction (crabbing) what i need is to reverse one servo. can i switch around the wires to do this or do i need a spliter that reverses one?

any help would be great!

noone??? i really dont want to spend 20 bux on the reverser if i dont have to!

i tried it and they wouldnt move.. thought i was doing something wrong.. it turned off the whole rx nothing would move... dont wanna burn it up

Thread moved to crawler section.

I would just spend the $20 on a EMS reverser. It is what I use on my crawler. Much cheaper than the Futaba and works fine.

i searched google one night for this and all i found was that you had to open the servo and reverse the wires on the motor its self

other then that its the servo reverser

Hey Beason,

I am no expert here, but it seems to me that like Rob said... just go with the reverser. If you change the wires yourself, it may work fine, but you could also ruin your electronics. I would play it safe and get the reverser. Save yourself the headache. Just my two cents.

Question: How can I reverse my servo?

Answer by peepee Pettit
You can reverse a servo quite easily, if you have expertise in soldering. Use a small iron, maybe 15-20 watts with a very fine point, and use rosin core solder only. Get help from someone who has experience.
Open the servo and reverse the 2 wires going to the motor. If the motor is connected directly to the PC board, close the servo up and buy a reverser.
You also have to swap the 2 outside wired on the potentiometer, which is WAAAAY down inside the servo case. There are 3 wires, just reverse the outer 2. If you don't feel comfortable doing this, buy a reverser.
If you completed the 2 wire mods, take your soldering iron and etch a big "R" into the case. This'll remind you that this servo is reversed.

You buy a servo reversing harness, which is just a short extension with a small bit of electronics that reverses the signal to the servo. Simply reversing polarity is a bad thing, or so I've been told.

thats what i read and it was for airplanes but should be able to work on anything

but as said before if your good as soldering i would try it on a cheap servo before doing it to say a 50 or 100 dollar servo

What radio gear do you have? Are you running 2 servo's and are they on different channels? I guess you deleted the first post.

thanks for fixing the first thread rob, jeep the info is back up there.

smaxxin ill check into that link thanks!!

Alright...ya the cheapest way to to just buy one of the above. but the best way is to get a radio with more channels. You can pick up a 4 channel radio of E-bay for under 50 bucks. The Attack 4...That way you only have 4WS when you need it. Also you can do Crab walks when ever you want. I'd save up the extra money and keep an eye open for a deal on E-bay. I bought a VG6000 off E-Bay new for $60...

jeep you got some links to these radios that cheep?? for the rig I'm building i could use an extra channel or two. but i didnt know you could get ground radios with more then 3. guess thats just the norm.. thanks!

Ya do a search on Tower for the Attack 4. Also the DX6 and VG6000. I have a Good VG6000 if you want it PM me. I was going to use it, but I'm going with the new DX6...:celb2:

i ordered the one that smaxxin posted, the 6 dollar one

thanks for all your help guys, eventually I'm gonna do a 4 or 6 channel radio, but the reverser will get me going for now

Good luck my friend. Post lots of pics when you get it all done.
