Reverse only problem, help!

Hi,

Building a rc10 rally with my sons with a 610r esc. I have triple checked the wiring and it is aa-bb-cc with a reedy 540 motor and the motor plug is snugly attached. I have tried to reverse the futaba 3pv but all it will do is reverse the trigger that powers it. It is blinking green when calibrated and not recognizing forward when arming. Question is: I have a programmer2 on the way, is it possible it was sent with forward turned off? Is my system somehow completely backwards? Doesn't seem so with the blinking green light. Why would the esc be defaulted with forward disabled? Just nervous that something else is wrong. Obviously once I receive the programmer and get a look at the settings I'll know more but curious if anyone has seen this before.

Is it a censored motor? If not, then just swap two of the motor wires, that will change the direction of the motor.
If it is censored then follow the directions in your user manual.
A censored motor has a small wire attached from the esc. If it's censored, it definitely has to be A to A, B to B, and C to C.

I'm not sure, but it definitely is as-bb-cc in terms of how we soldered it on. It does have the small wire from the esc, so I think the answer is yes. My original thought had been to swap wires but I can't imagine that's the case.

I thought so but the sequence is on, neutral, arm. Pull trigger for forward, arm, full brake, arm. Done. It will not recognize any forward arm. It blinks afterwards which I am told means forward is not on.

Seems like a radio problem and unfortunately, I'm not familiar at all with Futaba but...are your endpoints completely zero'd out and all settings stock in your radio for a brand-new model?

It does complete. On the futaba as far as I can tell I have every setting correct. Again, I have tried to reverse the channel and all that does is reverse the trigger but still only goes in reverse.

Not set meaning it's not seeing the forward signal from your radio. Check the connection from the ESC to the receiver. Is it reversed by chance? Do you have steering working as it should?

Yes not seeing forward signal. I have tried flipping the wires on the esc to receiver. Doesn't seem to work if I flip it the other way. Steering works perfectly.

Fairly certain. I don't see how the 5 pin cable based on the notches on the side would plug in otherwise. It certainly powers up. I can try and see if I can get it in flipped over.

The only thing I've done is turn down the throttle response on the transmitter.

Also could be something called blinky mode? But at the same time I don't understand how forward would be disabled out of the box. Which makes me think forward is reverse. Except for the fact that it won't arm forward during calibration. It's bizarre.

Deadband is the 'does nothing' zone on your trigger if I understand it correctly.

Just for the heck of it, plug your steering servo into chnl 2 and see if you get both directions.
