Replacing Savage Spur Gear.

Ok i need to replace my spur gear, is this difficult? Also i have about half a gallon into my savage, what cause this gears to go bad? Thank you.

very easy to do..could of been an improper mesh from the start. make sure to check th cb for wear before making a trip for parts.

Ebay has some steel gears, are those any good, or should i stick to the originals.

Well if you go with the steel spur you will have to make sure you got a hardened clutch bell to match,the spur replacement is one nut and spring,and the cause could be improper alignment and can also be the bashing or jumping you do,i like the plastic gear just for that reason it will break and not the tranny.
