I am going to buy the Tiger 689 backplate gear set to replace my pull start. I want to use a cordless drill to start it but will I have to buy an adapter or can I use a ball hex bit? Also do you run the drill in forward or reverse? Will this end my problems with the oneway bearings?

whatever starting method you use you will need a one way bearing (OWB), except if you use a starter box. My advice is don't use a drill use a roto-start, the whole kit roto-backplate, roto-start etc sells for arounds £20 ($40) on ebay. A roto-start is the same as a drill start except the 'drill' (or roto-start as it is called) is specially made for RC.
However if you really want to use the drill you need it in reverse and you need it to be able to go upto a certain RPM (not sure what it is)
