Recommended pipe for LRP Z.28R Spec. 3 Engine?

I was running mine with a JP-3 with good results. I never really did any pipe testing though...all I know is it had WAY too much power all around, and I got at least 9 min of runtime out of it. hehe

Not that uncommon down here. If tuned correctly, driven easy as most do racing...My Dyn. Platinum .28 with .9 springs and carbon shoes, with a JP-3 went 8 minutes easily on my Kyosho ST-RR with a 150cc tank.
Bashing, it would suck it dry well under 7 minutes.

I run an XRay XT8...so 150cc tank and easily went 9 min+ with it. I don't drive like a maniac since that damn motor has a LOT of sack, but I would go pretty good with it. Our local tracks laptimes were @ 40 seconds or so and it was supercross style. Not a lot of wide open sections, but a decent amount of large jumps so a lot of quick WFO bursts.

I still have the engine actually. It needs a pinch now though. Thinking I might just buy a new P/S/C for it and use it as a backup. That motor SCREAMS.

They do have nice jam out the box, in an Xray truggy I can see it, it doesn't take a lot to get that unit truckin.

Yeah I loved the bottom and mid power on that engine for sure. It was a favorite at my local track until the flameouts started. So now it sits....in a zip lock baggy....begging for mercy and to be spared. hehe

As mentioned earlier the Losi HT pipe is good, another good pipe is the Thunder Tiger 2035. Really great power with that pipe, and it's cheap too.

The 2035 seems to be the pipe most rec. for my JL.21. It just looks like one good hit would fold it up though. Everyone who's ran one seems to love it's all around characteristics.

Was it a tin can or could it hold up to racing? I like the black AE version, it will match my engine and chassis.

Well most the guys I race with are well behaved, so it didn't suffer any T-bones. They are a bit thin though which is not a problem for me, but if your track has a lot of hacks........

I run the pro class just to stay away from the jackasses. I'd rather run a clean race against 8-10 guys and come in 6th than beat and bang thru the "sandbagger" class and end up with a DNF. We have guys who have raced their entire lives signing up for sportsman.....B.S. Our local track makes the top Sportsman qualifier go to the Pro A main if he's a sandbagger.
