Hooking up new electronics on my R40...
two Futaba S3010 servos
Futaba PCM 1024 FP-R113iP receiver

Can't get it to work @#(*$@%&*&

To eliminate variables, I switched out the crystal
from my Rs4, tried the on/off switch from the RS4,
tried the power pack from the RS4, when I switched out the
receiver, the servo works !
My old receiver is a Futaba R133F
Why won't this receiver work ?
Am I going to have to buy another ( Futaba R133F ) receiver ?

what radio are you using?
what frequency band is the radio?
Does the Rx match this?
Try hard wiring the pack to your Rx (eliminate the switch)......then try all the things you listed before......sometimes the switch just goes bad and that's all.....

I'm using a Futaba magnum 3PM-FM @ 75.690 MHZ
The crystal does match if that's what you mean by Rx...

As it turn out my old rs4 MT has a Futaba R133F receiver
which I'm using and it's working fine... I'm going to just
return the PCM 1024 receiver and buy another R133F...

Problem solved.

Thanks for the help...

your problem is/was you were using a PCM Rx w/ an FM Tx.....if you want the Rx that gives you the built in failsafe and the higher response times w/ the radio you have you need to get an HRS receiver...not the PCM...

Ahhhhhhhhh... Thank you for clearing that up... It was driving me nuts...

I've actually have another question... My Futaba magnum 3PM-FM controller has a "type 72-7 75.690 mhz crystal and the car receiver has a Rx75 type 72-7 75.690 crystal... all is cool there... how do I use other crystals at different frequencies so
if I'm practicing at the track and someone is already using that frequency ? Do I need two crystals, one for the controller and one for the car ? How does that work ?

You have to change the crystals in both the receiver and radio. Make sue when you buy the new set of crystals, it is purposely made for your tx/rx brand. Airtronics crystal will only work in airtronics, Futaba only futaba... etc.

looks right to me.....I have a ton of those little bastards and now I'm going everything DSM......if you add up th ecost of th emodule set and compare it to buying say 10 different frequencies at 15 bucks a pop you're at the same price......

since everyone is going to spektrum now. You can probably pick up a Hitec spetra module(will work in futaba) and a synthesized receiver faily cheap. That way you will have channels 61-90.
