Hey guys so i opted for the flysky 7 channel controller and receiver (r7p). The manual doesn't specify it. I purchased a ubec 10a continous because of my winch. Can the r7p handle 10amps or should i leave the esc bec on the receiver which is 6v 4amps and just straight wire from my ubec to the steering servo and winch allowing me to use 7.4v? I know the winch can handle 11v if i wanted but i dont think thats necessary and 7.4 should be plenty.

Opinions? Thank you

My plan is :
I will have on receiver 6v 4amp esc bec:

micro servo for dig
Micro servo for 2 speed transmission
Rock lights
Headlights and tailights.

From 10amp ubec set at 7.4v:

Winch
steering servo

Good idea? I'm unsure how many amps the winch pulls under load id have to test it. Its a poopy rc wgrn winch (warn) wannaby single motor.

you don’t want want the UBEC and the BEC both powering the Rx. Essentially from the Rx you will only be wanting the Signal from the winch channel. See This thread on the Arrma forum

Here is a handy diagram from that thread where the “7.4v servo” in you case would be the winch

Yup i know that thank you, maybe i worded it wrong. I was just curious if my plan is a good one. Ubec powers winch and steering servo. While everything else judt the onboard esc bec for the receiver.

Also curious if the receiver can handle 10a if i had wanted to use just the ubec for the receiver? And NOT the esc bec.

Thirdly i am now curious if i can run the winch on the ubec but still use the remote controller for operating the winch instead of the remote that came with the winch. I ask this because i dont think the receiver reverses the polarity with a 2 wire? My winch is a 2 wire red and black so without the module that came with it, would the receiver reverse polarity if its not using the signal wire?

For the last question i realized the receiver does NOT reverse the pins for a 2 wire winch however a quick search on aliexpress or amazon and you find this module (picture) that replaces the module that came with the winch. I will no longer need the external remote and can use a 3 way winch channel! Only 4$

I dont see any amperage or wattage ratings on that receiver. That being said the receiver usually isnt the weak point, the ESC's BEC is. I would wire up the wench on a BEC personally but if all your powering is the wench and steering servo then you probably dont need to use a BEC. I dont think you would ever be usuing the steering servo and the wench at the same time.
