I just bought this glow igniter and was just wondering how long i should be charging this..i'm using the standard charger that comes with it. (its pink) :horsecrap:

A good rule of thumb is to try and charge it no more than necessary. I know that's not much of a help, but the igniters usually come with a trickle type charger so it should be safe to charge it over night.

The charger it came with should tell you how much output it has. Divide the capacity of the cell by the output of the charger and there you have your rough "completely dead to fully charged" time.

I have two of the little wall plug chargers and both are rated at 170ma, which would charge a 1700mah cell in 10 hours. 1600mah would be a bit less.

ok, i must of done something wrong because I've been charging it for more than 9 hours and the needle on the meter hadnt moved at all..its completely dead.. any ideas?.

If your glow-plug igniter works anything like mine, the meter doesn't move during charging. Connect it up to a new glow-plug and the meter should register.

If it was warm to the touch when you took it off of the charger, it's charged. +1 on the meter not reading without a glow plug attached. My dynamite was the same way. The meter only worked for a week or so anyways.:)

Well, the only good a meter is for me is tells me that there's "some" charge and that the coil on the plug isn't broken. Besides that, after a short while it tends to do what it wants when it wants anyway. If it twitches when it's connected to the plug, I figure there's something left in it.
