Well I can't even begin to get my car to hook up worth a crap on the road course so i think I will be sitting all of the road courses out, 30+ second laps just isn't any fun, not to mention I am playing on a old a$$ monitor that might be at best a 17".

Keep at it no matter how "bad" you do. It is the only way to improve on the road courses and you really have nothing to loose.

I will be more than happy to help with setup of your car.

I will even send over the setup on the car I used for this track if you want to try.

:hehe:

Hey Curtis, I'll lay a run down later tonight so you can see just how bad I am on the road courses too. Run anyway man, I'm gonna, you me and lloyd can battle for last place, lol.

For me the set up isn't as important as getting the car to roll through the corner, slowing down sooner...If I'm on the brakes entering any of those corners the car won't turn. I run the same set up on this track that I run on speedway...I added a little more braking and went with a 35sh std tire. For me running the daily challenge on this track was better than regular practice, I keep wanting to beat my times.

mine is not old but I'm on an 18" monitor (really 17.5) so I know how you feel!

Joe that sounds good to me but i bet I beat you out of last place, LOL!!!!:hehe:

If your screen is around 17" Curtis, I'm not sure that a bigger one will give you a bigger picture, my and I think Joe said his was the same, doesn't use the entire screen, its more like 3/4 of it, more like a 17" or so picture.

I had my best round of practice earlier so I made my second run....hows that for being consistent.

1. Run June 07, 2010 [23:05] 33 Laps 12:07.716

Race 1 : R/C Speedway

Well it's official, the RCNitrotalk VRC racing series is now in full swing! The first race is in the books and the green flag is still out on the second. What a race this first one was too !

The first race of the season was on the R/C Speedway oval and it was a nail-biter to the finish! It was close at the first of the race but then the battle for first and second emerged between robmeb and Racer 1966. First and second place was decided by only 2.84 seconds as Racer 1966 nosed past robmob for the win. One of the big factors about this one was pit strategy. While robmob elected to do fuel only stops,Racer 1966 had to chage tires twice. If Racer 1966 could have forgone the tire changes, he may have won with a commanding lead. But that combined with robmb running the fastest lap made for the ultra slim margin of victory.

Meanwhile there was just as fierce of a battle for the 3rd and 4th spot between NCNitro and abadk9420. Again pit strategy could be part of the factor but in the end,NCNitro takes home the final podium spot with only a one lap lead leaving abadk9420 to take the 4th position.

Slowngreen and SMaxxin rounded out the race in 5th and 6th place respectively. That's not to say they were way out run as both racers showed some impressive lap times. We'll have to keep an eye on these guys, This was their first official race and they held their own on the track so the next round could be up for grabs.

With the new points system, there is only a 1 point difference between first and second after this race. Just as close as was the finish! The second race, the first road course is underway now and I can't wait to see how this ends up.

You're it Pete,I just knocked you down to 3rd. I don't think my batts will last another run but the urge to go for it is strong!

My batteries are charging right now, I wasn't sure if I would make my last run but now your forcing me. I have been practicing but I don't think my time will get any better.

Looks like I screwed myself...I got lucky to hold onto third.

Nothing sucks more than deciding to try and improve your laps by doing a final run and realizing during the race that you will actually do worse.

At least you held your position despite dropping a couple of laps.

I'm gonna start practicing the tracks more before making my runs. Lux is kinda fun too I think so I'll prolly do a few 16 min practices before running.

Thats very discouraging for sure! After you realize its not gonna be better, it just seems to start getting worse and worse. :hehe:

I heard that! I hate once I know I will not be improving everything seems to go wrong from that point, and you can't just quit because you then get a dnf. I hate when that happens.

I thought I had lost my final run. I was about to start it when I noticed my batteries were dying so I canceled it before it actually started to give them a charge. When I went to the forum to see who could still make a run it was showing that I ran 3/3 but I logged on anyway and it let me run.

I wrecked at the starting line on the first lap, I knew I was screwed....it felt like I was fighting the car the whole race.

A good lap on Lux boils down to the final drop down turns before the Start/Finish line. Hit it right and it is quick straight shot down. Hit it wrong and you are cranking your wheel back and forth trying to get around it which can cost valuable seconds.

It is the one spot on the track I really have to concentrate to get through clean.

Not counting the pit stops of course.
