Well, I don't know what the fiddlesticks is going on with my computer but even after setting the priority it didn't help. Everytime I run the godamn fan starts buzzing and it freezes the program for about one second. This pit road is bullshit too. Getting in is a breez but that crap I read about being on the inside half of the lane is bogus for this track. You gotta be right next to the damn wall for it to register. I'm so done with this tonight.

The pit on that track is the worst so far. Over shot the tiny refueling spot and had to get marshaled since I would not have made it around for another try due to how close I cut the pit stop fuel wise. It put me back on the track just past the pit entrance so I had to bull my way back in. Ended up costing me an additional lap.

Second pit was better, but I crawled to the fueling spot which I am sure is no bigger than the car itself.

Sweet. Speedway once again. At least it's only 5 minutes.

the fueling spot which I am sure is no bigger than the car itself.

Yeah, that's about how I feel too. My second run was feeling pretty decent until my second pit. I thought I was refueling but it wasn't. I went back out on track with a bad feeling so I came back in next time around with 1.7cc left in the tank. Thank goodness I came back in, running out may have cost me 3rd place. At any rate, it's good to have some competition now. It's getting tighter as the year goes on. Randy will be right up here in the top 2-4 laps real soon I think. Nice win rob!

Thanks.

I thought my booted pit cost me for sure. Car felt great the entire race. Handling never changed towards the end like the last race.

I think this is the first race in two seasons where I felt my car's balance changed with the fuel load. I don't know that the program is engineered to do that but it sure seemed like it.

Fell asleep early last night. I might have time to put everything together this morning before I head off to work. The kids went to sleep late last night too so they should sleep a while longer.

Round 11

8/18/2009

Who can believe we are 11 races into the 2009 season already? As the season moves forward the opportunities for improvement become more distant. With two DNS races this season Lessen has virtually taken himself out of the hunt for the championship. He is very close, if not mathematically elimited from backing up his 2008 performance. Up at the top of the charts, Robmob is proving that although he may not have earned the points lead by winning races he certainly has the ability to maintain the points lead by doing so. In what may have been the closest road race of the season Robmob takes the big prize with road ace Candyman in toe. Lessen manages a 3rd place finish with Racer_1966 right on his bumper. Rob smoked the field this week in his lap by lap consistancy. He certainly was the most comfortable in sunny Florida this weekend. Fastest lap of the race goes to Candyman with Racer_1966 surprisingly coming in 2nd for the category. Dont' count Racer out of a fight for a season podium finish. Week after week he proves he can "learn it to earn it" -Racer_1966. It'll be a fight to seasons end to see who can make up ground and who will maintain their positions as the season really starts to heat up.

Hey guys, sorry I was a no show, but it's funny how the cable company wants to be paid or they shut you off :D

I will have internet for this weekend though, so I will be there at the oval again. Hope I can run a little more consitantly this time.

Just a little reminder. If you guys don't mind I'd like to see what everybody could come up with in a mock qualifying round. I've set it up in the club, I think it's running all day Sunday. It's just a 2 minute run but that's as short as I can make it. All I'm interested in is everybody's very first lap. The rest means nothing. I'll be doing this for the remaining races this season as a test for next year's format. I need to see what we get if we all get one attempt to put down a flying lap. It would help tremendously if everybody who races in the remaining races this season would also give it your best in the mock qualifying round as well.

Hmmm.

I guess I need to alter the way I start races from now on.

What is the grip on the test run?

The first lap usually won't be representative of what I'll run. It's usually one of the slowest for me,might not be as bad at the speedway but....you can see how it goes I guess.

I don't mind, but my first lap is never my best, or even good for that matter, lol. It usually takes me a couple to get in some kind of groove, but I don't mind helping ya out at all Josh.

Just an idea to mix up the next season a bit. I'm pretty excited to see the competitition level that we saw at Fort Myers but I'm not content. I want to bring strategy into the mix which we really don't see much of now. I think it'll be interesting to see who is willing to push and when. Single lap qualifying will bring a little of that to the table I think.

I think the grip is relatively normal. Nothing too out of hand.

Well, I decided to sit down and fiddle around with some setup experiments and see if I can find more speed. Nope. I've been messing around with a solid axle setup but I havn't been able to find the 6 second range yet. Still 7.1s and 2s.

I've given up on trying.

I have a solid sub 7 setup that can get into the 6's, but only a handful of times per run.

It's really quite frustrating.

I hate oval.
