1. I like it mixed up like this. Keeps it interesting IMO. I like the longer races the best,5min is almost too short.

2.Thanks!

3. Just don't go to a "race to the chase format" please!

No, no chase format.

My intentions for a revamped format is to get our club mixed up more. Not that it's getting boring, but I'd like to see a format which really brings our varied abilities closer together in competition so that winning a race or finishing better can become more of a reality for the slower guys while giving the guys who are generally faster more of a challenge. However, to be fair to the faster folks, they deserve to have an edge as well. It's going to be a delicate balance I think and it's going to require a lot of number crunching and I may also need some help from you guys with some testing if you're willing. In order to achice this fair balance I need to come up with some sort of handicapping system that rewards and challenges while being fair. If I can manage to figure out a good system it will most likely involve a Qualifying session based on a straight up fast lap. I may then use the qualifying results to issue handicaps for the race.

Hmmm, interesting ideas and you know I'll help with testing anytime.

I could see this as helping get more people interested in racing. I personally don't mind it straight up like it is,losing just makes me try harder to improve. Plus it just a simple fact that it takes some experience to get faster so being at the bottom for a while is just how it is.

Yes, very very true. The thing is... none of us really take this as seriously as it would need to improve enough to be competitive at whatever the next level is. Within our group there are varied levels of ability and these levels will more than likely not to change too drastically. It's just not going to happen unless for instance you or Gabe were to put in a dozen hours per week practicing. This is mostly in good fun and I certainly don't expect anybody to put in that much time for $6. However, to maintain a certain level of interest I believe the target needs to be relatively attainable by everybody. Otherwise, there stands a chance that it will become boring for those who are less competitive. Keeping it interesting is my most challenging goal. I also need to keep it fair so that those who are naturally faster continue to stay toward they top because they deserve to be there, this is racing after all. Basically, I need to retune the format so that the focus becomes being mistake free rather than being fast. I have a pretty good idea right now but in order for it to work as intended I need to figure out the right combination of numbers so it's fair.

I HATE VIDEO GAMES ON PCs!

I've been playing with the setuo for this weeks race. I finally get something that helps the car do what I want, but now the video and sound are choppy. I figured it was the computer, but I can't find anything that's changed. PCs are not for games IMO!

Another reminder of why I quit gaming many years ago.

You might have had something running in the background.

I agree with you about games though. They belong on dedicated consoles like the 360, PS3 and Wii.

I'm getting pretty pissed. I ordered a VRC-3 USB adaptor. I got it about a week ago. And it isn't working. My PC isn't recognizing the adaptor. It recognizes my VRC-2 unit still even though only 1 channel is working. But nope, not the other one. So I'm clueless on what to do. At this point it has become a major pain in the ass and I'm just not into limping around with the keyboard...

Have you uninstalled all of the drivers and reinstalled them?

Well, I stayed up late and took the thing apart. Seems I got too in to the racing and turned too hard breaking the stop on the steering wheel. :hehe: This alowed me to turn the pot in tx too far which allowed the the spring to pop off.

It is working again, something doesn't feel quite right, but working. :\
