my son was given a truck by a vendor, it was pretty cool i just now started looking at it and realised it was not in fact an scx24 like i originally thought. its an

pretty neat little truck, dont think i can do much to it tho at this point, its currently completely stock and not the most capable, and i just dont see it being much more after i throw money at it if that makes sense? the rc4wd trucks are much more leaning towards the scale portion of the hobby, we are abusive to our trucks and this guy just doesn't feel like its got it to me at first look.
no complaints mind you, mostly its just not my bag
the parts are tiny and nylon, the screws are ridiculously small, but the body looks great, and its clena with no issues at all. plus that price!!
gonna get a lot of tire rub if i throw mud tires on itwont take much I'm assuming to kill this 5GRAM servo!!!!!
think the shocks are pen springs from a bic

gonna see if he will let me paint it gloss black, gonna find a light bar for it like we did for the 1/18 scale
its an 80's toyota hilux, which i think are just cool
we will see whats in the future for it

does anyone else have any exp with the rc4wd brand? I'm new to it as i dont really care about scale realism,

I have stayed away from RC4wd trucks for that very reason. Great scale looks, but will never be more than a mild trail truck.

The RC4WD stuff is more for scale. The TF2 didn't have really good reviews in the performance departmentwhen it released, but she is a looker!

You can get motors for them cheap. It uses the same motors the Orlandoo Hunters use I believe, which N20 size with gearbox.

If I were to upgrade that motor, I'd look at these

But, Furitek used to make a Sprintail brushless conversion for it, which if I had to guess, was simply their Micro Komodo with a gear reduction drive on it.

Since that is the same setup the Orlandoo Hunters use, this should fit your little guy perfectly.

I second that. I built a TF2 and put a crap ton of money into it. Full painted interior, bobbed body, scale accessories, and at the end of the day... the quality was just not there. Part fitment wasn't great either.
