I got bored on my vacation so I cleaned and rearranged the garage. While doing so I had a thought, this would be the best to time too create a workstation. $82 worth of materials I built this in a corner with a storage shelf above. I still want to get a big pit mat for the desk and I need some lighting.

It’s not the best, but I love it so much.

Looks good to me... nicely done!

I use one of these as a 'pit mat'.

Nice to have a space of your own to putter in. I have a workspace in the garage, and the hobby room, that are so cluttered I work at the kitchen table. I really need to do something about that. 🙄

Maybe not the best but it certainly would compete as such. Awesome job,
it looks great.

Thank you. I have one of those for while I’m working on rigs to keep tabs on hardware, but I’m looking for one that will cover the whole desk 24"x"89"
Maybe have a look at yoga mats?

+1 Warby. Mine is standing too. This thread has me re-thinking that. Back '02-'05 used to work my 1/8 nitro buggy seated at a card table. Somehow got away from that to standing position workbenches and been that way ever since.

Think it has to do with how easily tools needed fall to hand. Now it seems always a bend and reach for what is needed. And, it seems, out of reach from a sitting position. Gonna go back through all my previous workstation photos and see how to correct that. Need to pull that card table out again and drag up a folding chair first thing before beginning RC work. Force the issue to resolution, so to speak.

Oh, and by the way, Bearded, nice set-up. -AC

I have a chair on wheels for my bench. The seat height is adjustable and extends well over the height of my work bench surface. I can reach everything fine. I just need to worry about falling off and breaking a limb! 🤣

I have a comfy Sharper Image office chair on wheels at my 'sub' workbench (aka kitchen table).
I like it ok. Mrs Certified isn't as impressed tho. 🙄🤷‍♀️ 🤣

I like to stand, but not trying to brag, but my back is only 15 years old lol. Everything is easier to reach, but.. my workstation is shoulder level anywa

I remember when I was 15. Let me know how you like that standing desk in 32 years. 😂 I like to stand too but not for long.
