I have no idea, as RB doesn't rate their engines. If you can afford it, go with the C5 instead, it is noticeably faster. I just couldnt afford to drop that kind of cash twice. for 215.00 the S7 was a steal. Ask the following members what they think of the S7, as they were with me several days, and got to see it first hand.

What about your springs?? 2.1.. those are pretty tight springs.. you must me on open track huh?? i am not too good as far as spring rates and all that goes.. i run the 1.0 on my buggy.. you think the 2.1 would give me better bottom punch, or worse bottom punch? I am getting to a point where i need just that liittle bit you know..

ill have to double check, after posting, i think they are 1.2, not 2.1

the heaver the spring, the later the clutch engagement, the more punch on the bottom end.

Cool, i will have to try different things.. i just heard that everyone here is running the 1.0, so i got them.. havent really done much in that way as far as clutch goes.. do you use aluminum shoes?? do you trim your composites or anything like that..

i dont like aluminium shoes. the original springs i used (1.0mm), i drilled out the shoes. it isnt necessary with the heavier springs.

Nitro...what do you mean drilled out the shoes. I just went to a 3 shoe system with 1.0 springs. The 1.1's were acting weird. Maybe it was operator error though...:wtf:

I'm using 1.0, and i dont drill mine.. please explain what you mean by drill the shoes.. :)

I was the only one to see NA's buggy before and after he put the stiffer springs in. All I can say is WOW. There was such a difference. Then he went up one tooth on the clutchbell. His buggy was flying!!

I plan on making 1-2 of the races, but don't know if I am going to race in the south or east division.

Sorry guys - was away from the computer a bit. Originally, I was usuing 1.0 springs, and drilled out the clutch shoes to lighten them for later engagement. I was running a 13tooth bell. After i went to the stiff springs (1.2) i was able to run reguilar shoes, have a HUGE amount of extra acceleration, so much so, that I went up to a 14tooth bell and still have more bottom end than with the original setup, plus, my top end has increase considerably.

FRB - Sign up for the EAST division, then you and I will be racing each other!!!

Nitroaddict.. thanks for the info.. what size drill did you use to drill the holes.. how many holes did you put.. also.. we had a big race this past weekend.. and some of the rcpro guys were there.. i raced in the expert class in this race this weekend.. and got into the Bmain.. and couldnt bump into the A.. i may actually think about running in the sportsman class.. not sure though.. i want to run in the expert class.. but.. i dont think i will make it in the expert class.. cmainer or something.. or maybe a Bmainer.. i think racing in the pro class makes you better.. than in the sportsman class.. what you think?

Grobe...You need to tell him why you were in the bmain! All the problems you were havin, I'm surprised you made it to the bmain. If you had a engine that was runnin good, I think you could have made it to the Amain...just my .02...:egad:

Well, thats the thing.. the good guys dont have those problems.. i guess i need to just splurge and get a good motor.. i really want to get a RB WS7 motor.. seeing those things in action this weekend.. dang.. can't beleive the power those make.. and as cool as they run

as for drilling the clutch shoes, i have no idea what size the bit was. it was the bit that came with my dremel. about twice the size of the hold already there for the flywheel post. I drilled one hole in each.

As for the pro series. I entered more to have fun, than to aid in going pro. So for me, I would rather have a chance at a podium finish every race in the Intermediate class than be stuck in the b main every time in Expert. That is just my opinion though. If your good enough, go for the expert class. Ill keep an eye on the points!

YUP - I have 3 RB Engines. All 3 run consistantly at about 215-225.
