So beings that I'm new to this sport some basic info would be greatly appreciated. For now, let's talk batteries. Once that topic has been covered I'll go on to my next topic.

First the cars: Traxxas Slash 4+4
and a Traxxas E-Maxx (non brush less)

Now to the batteries. I purchased 4 5000mah battery packs (non LiPo) and have four chargers. According to the instructions on said chargers (Onyx 100) I should be charging at 4 amp setting. Is this correct? Also should I be running the batteries completely dead or just till the car runs slow? Any other info would be great concerning the batteries.

Thanks in advance.

4 amps will be fine. The mah rating is the capacity of the battery. The more the merrier. When charging, a good rule of thumb is to charge at a max amp rate of 1/1000th of the mah rating. 2500mah pack? 2.5 amps. 3800mah pack? 3.8 amps. I always charge at a slightly lower rate to prolong the life of the battery. I would charge a 5000mah pack at 3.5 amps just because it makes me feel a little better.:) Never charge or run a warm pack either. Always make sure they're room temp. Never leave them in freezing temps either.

MAH = runtime the higher mah you have the more run time you get
C rating is the discharge rate of the battery, for lipo's with a brushless set up the higher the c the faster your truck will get off the line
cells just means how many cells their are in the battery aka for lipo they have 1 cell all the way up to 10cell
Volts do corespond with how many cells are in the battery for instance a 2 cell lipo has 7.4 volts and a 3cell lipo with 11.1 volts

Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this.

That sounds right! And wow, you bought four battery chargers!
