I watched it, it was pretty cool. But they should have added weight to the wheels on their warthog build. :D

I am pretty sure it should be on again tomorrow at 11 am on spike for anyone that missed it today.

yea they skipped a lot of the hobby, but i think they did a pretty good job of covering the basics. they had a summit on there though.. lol

I have it dvred too. I had it set after seeing the previews last week, just in case I forgot. I originally thought it was just going to be a small segment, but to see the whole episode on it was pretty cool.

Ian Johnson said that the scale crawlers were as fun as the 1:1 crawlers and a lot less expensive. I kind of wish that they would have gone a bit farther overboard on the custom build like RC4WD.com Blackwell axles or maybe an MOA....

You can purchase the episode on the iTunes store for $2. it might also be on something like Hulu....

Imo you didnt miss out Alpine. It was poorly put together in my opinion.

Well, you can only fit so much information in what is only about 20 minutes. Consider that producers realize that if they just cram it chock full of technical crap that they would just be 10' over their audiences head. I'm sure they purposely gear it for the non-knowing.

I watched it, and it was exactly what I expected. That has to be one of the most annoying automotive shows out there. It is full of upgrades and tools and options that simply aren't available to 90% of the real world. Their shop is always squeaky clean, they rebuild entire rear ends or build a full tube chassis in what seems like seconds, and basically just chuck money at their projects – something we all wish we could do.

I would prefer a 6-week installment for a buildup. For us shade-tree mechanics, that type of series could really be of some benefit. But simply watching some guy who * never * gets dirty tell us “Now we just plug the beefed up Currie 9-inch under our rod, and we are ready to play!” gets old. Very annoying. As anyone who is into any hobby can attest, NOTHING goes from beginning to show-ready in an afternoon. It just doesn't happen.

In the RC installment I watched, the guy went from absolute bare chassis to running car, including the t-case, electrics, axles – everything, and it said 'Build time: approximately 1 hour`.

Now, I don't know how fast you guys are, but I know that for me personally, it would be impossible to do anywhere near that work in an hour. Maybe it's just me, but that show always makes me roll my eyes. :)
