So today around 3:40 pm I had my Truggy all tuned in and I took it for a spin. I walk down a residential road and drive the car as I walk to the neighborhood park. I had this car in the Bike Lane, and a wonderful gentleman slammed on his brakes, got out of his car and freaked out on me. According to him, "You are just a PUNK with that car! You are going to cause an accident" Well, interesting because the car was no where near him. So I laughed, and kept walking. He then threatened to call the police...

4:22 pm, The Police department finally shows up at the park. The officer asked to see my car, then asked me to drive it. 1 lap around the park he offered to buy it, but I simply resisted.

The police officer and I began to talk about RC cars, and then Mr. Grumpy came stomping across the park and began to yell at the officer for driving a gas powered vehicle in a public park. Well, the police officer then calmed the gentleman down and he took off.

4:32 pm The police officer kindly apologized for the man's behavior.

:first_place:

Oh man, that is great, I love that one. One thing to say for Mr. Grumpy :bowned:

I didn't know alpine had a thrifty brother in CA? Damn, always trying to haggle a good deal.

lol, that's pretty cool the officer was a gentleman about it.

I had something similar happen to me last spring. It's funny... 30 years old, playing with toys, heart still gets a thump'n when the po po come call'n.

First thing the cop asks.... "How fast does it go?" lol

Just like a kid.

I responded with "You tell me! ;)". He tried, but couldn't get a good read. Came in around 35mph, which is probably about right for my aftershock at the time.

I asked what happened to make him stop. He just kind of grins and nodded his head to the residential area. My only skate park is about 200 yards away from a residential area on the edge of town. Nothing to the north, east or west, only homes to the south. Then he says "Well, I have some real work to do. I don't see any vandalism going on here. Have a good day and I hope to see you again!".

That was one time I was glad to hear that line come from a cop. I've seen him 3 or 4 times, he just waves now. :)

i went behind a mall to break mine in and a store complained. when the mall cop came over he said I have a savage set up at home for 2 motors and he told me a good place to take it

My heart wasn't thumping at all really, I knew I wasn't doing nothing wrong. But yeah, that guy was driving a Prius, and you can ask comedian Jeff Denham what that means ;)

That cars a lunchbox u can turn by sticking your arm out the window

Thats a good story, gotta love it when someone who is looking for a reason to be offened is brushed off like that. Maybe you should change your handle to punk just for the old coot.

after that statement, the guy had better damn well have been driving a blue prius.

gotta love it when cops show that there not out to getcha

I have a Park right behind me and every time I go out there either with a plane or car the security officer that roams the park ALWAYS comes, turns off his truck and watches. He's came up to me a couple times asking me how much they cost, how fast they go and so on. It's great.

Now then, stop being suck a PUNK!!!! Maybe you should put the "quite" muffler on. Gosh!
