Thanks, i was about to buy the Axial, but then i found these arent much more, so which one THANKS!!!!!!!!!

I'm one click away!

Any info on Losi Mach 427(teal head) ? Supposed to be a good motor, should i just get the axial .28 though?

I bought the Teal Losi 427, its supposed to be high compression also has a bigger carb... should i upgrade my clutch shoe's? my savage 25 has a 3 shoe'd clutch thingy. I'm also thinking of getting a new motor saver air filter.

The teal and gold 427 are both solid well performing engines. The teal one has a bit of an edge of the gold, but it's not a lot. It would be the one I'd go for in your list personally. Doesn't do too bad with fuel consumption either.

If yours are old, then it may be good to get a new set for when you install the new engine. I run the HPI 3 shoe teflon shoes with an LRP28S3 in both my aftershock and savage. If they can hold up to that engine for gallon after gallon, then they should hold up for you for a very long time.

thanks i have been waiting for your help lol, yeah i read to get the HPI 3shoe ones, do you have a link.

Now this is my first engine so I'm gonna seal the carb and back plate before i break it in, this is probly a dumb question, now the axial has 3 needles, does this motor? also can i use my roto start with it? do i use my savage25's exhaust header/manifold on this motor?

http://www.myatomic.com/catalog/viewsku?sku=LOSR1002 this is what i bought, i hope i can use my roto start thingy with it, if not is there anything else i have to or should buy for this?

Not a bad price with free shipping. Horizon would have got you for another 6-7 for shipping.

Well, that roto-start that's on it won't work on a savage. It's not offset like the savage needs. You should have hunted for a pull-start teal 427 if such an animal exists.

I don't know if the HPI roto-start housing will work on it at all. All of us use pull-starts (my bashing buddies and I).

You may need to find a different header gasket, or at the very least, get new HPI ones. I don't recall if my buddy that's running the 427 gold head in his savage had to use something other than HPI gaskets for the header.

These are the shoes/springs all of us run in our rigs:

1 muggy, 3 LST's, 2 savage's and an aftershock... they liked how mine ran and engaged, so they all bought the same shoes. Copy-cats...

These are the HPI header gaskets:

Like I said, I'm not 100% sure what will fit best with that engine and the HPI header.

Pretty sure this pull-start will work:

That's a good engine in general. Puts out good power and is fairly good about holding a tune. Just make sure to put the piston at BDC between runs every time to help prolong pinch life.

someone said all i should need is this.

also i looked up the part # in my manual for my clutch shoe's there the same ones as in the link you gave me, mine are in pretty good shape still.

I was also told i can use my savage's exhaust manifold. But i plan on getting a better air filter then what my savage 25 has because everytime i go to put it on the foam gets messed up inside the rubber housing.

While I'm ordering from A main hobbies i think i should upgrade my brakes and maybe steering i read theres a kit? maybe other little things i might need since things are going to be shipped.

XL brakes are nice:
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXSGF1&P=ML

Adjustable servo saver kit:
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJSS6&P=7

Ditches the servo saver mounted to the servo and in general works much better.

hmm, i already have that cam type servo saver, i thought there was another better one? i guess not, xl brakes are direct bolt on?

also do all air filters fit these carbs? i dont know if i should look for a savage 25 one considering i have a losi 427 now?

I'm also going to get an extra glow plug or two for back up, what should i use for this engine?

Replace the bushings with bearings is the upgrade you're thinking of.

The Savge 25 will work. Actually the HPI filter is agood choice for the price.

What fuel and plug have you been using?

I have either an O.S. Hot Glow plug or a O'Donnell Hot Glow plug, and I'm using sidewinder fuel. I forget the nitro content. Should I just get cheap glow plugs for break in or?

For a steering servo i think I'm just gonna get the Traxxas High Torque Servo Waterproof

Ok I'm about to send out the order for parts.... already paid for the engine, I just want to double check to make sure i didnt forget anything, or if there is something i should get while I'm ordering.

Spin start losi starter shaft
2 OS #8 Plugs
Engine sealant
Savage X Fiberglass Dual brake kit
Steering servo
HPI Racing Clutch bell 17t
HPI plastic 47t Spur gear

total $82.48 before shipping if its not free.... anything else?

lol hey agian, you know about the servo.I would get a high tourqe hpi steering servo. The best think ever the gears are metal and cost about 40$
This is my choice so you go with anything you like I'm not forcing you =p:D

Thanks, yeah i went actually with the traxxas High Torque steering servo that they use in the E-Maxx, its water proof and was $28, so hopefully it works out well, i only bash with it i dont race, but after all i spent if this thing boogies might have to look into racing lol

hmm, well i can go to my local hobby shop see if they have a pull start for it sine I'm still waiting for it to ship to me.

Pretty sure someone is wrong... I'd really pick up a pull-start for it as well. I'm pretty sure you won't be able to get the starter shaft in the engine or possibly even the engine in the truck with that losi spin start housing.

You were correct! I was told by a bunch of different people how it would work..... but you where correct! I should always just listen to you!!!! Your very helpfull.

So i ordered a pull start and 2 rims, and an air filter...... seems like a endless list!!!!

I was gonna get the 2day shipping and then said to myself well overnight is only $7.00 so ill just not eat one meal or something lol

I try really hard to steer people down a path I know nothing about. Honestly, knowing the savage as I do, I've never run a roto start. Always pull-starts for me. But knowing the rear of the savage and how the starter is on the LST2, I was pretty certain the rear tower/bulkhead is in the way on the savage.

Who needs food when you got nitro? ;)

Yeah i basically am eating finally since Noon today.... got the motor in broke it in pretty good. it was so big rich from the factory i could only let it idle it wouldnt even let me give gas. So i leaned it and it got to about 180 degrees ran it like that for a few more tanks no full throttle, i took it pretty easy on it. then after 6 tanks i started flooring it and it popped a few wheelies, deffinitly a powerfull motor!

Then i heard some clicking noises when i went WOT or semi floor'd..... i figured it was the hex nut in my one wheel since if you recall the oversized hole in the rim and it was wobbling.................. then it stopped wheelieing and mostly does front wheelie drive burnouts......... lol would do you think i did now!
