I wouldnt run a Rooster personally. They cost more than they are worth. They can only run 2s lipo. Stick with Castle stuff like sidewinders or mambas. Or the new holmes esc. The motor is ok though, alittle slow.
 
It's not a bad quality ESC. The Novack ESCs that I've used in the past have been really good.

BAng for the buck you can't beat a Hobbico CS-170 for the steering, you cam pick them up at Tower Hobbies for $90, just a word of advice, if you go to a hi-torque steering servo you will also want to get a external BEC like the Castle Creations BEC, I twill make a huge difference.They sale them at Tower Hobbies as well...

i stiff run my original novac Rooster crawler ESC and 55t motor. its not comp grade, but it is a great lil backyard basher setup
