i went to check out my rotofly and see if i could get it to power up. when i picked up the battery its poofy.. like it has a bubble in the plastic cover. its soft like its just air but with it being a lipo I'm worried its gonna pop on me. is this normal or should i be worried?

I would be VERY worried about it. Put it in an all metal container and leave it in a safe place.
Has it sustained any impact?
You just can't take a chance with these. Once the chemical gets oxygen, you have EXTREMELY RAPID combustion. It needs no other point of ignition.
Scary stuff.

Edit: The covering is shrink wrap, so a bubble would strike me as a bad thing.

the pack itself seems to still be a rectangle with no bulge, only the shrink wrap has the bubble, but its pretty firm.

its just been setting on the shelf since i got the heli.

the back side is the same shape it should be, but the front is to firm to really feel the case. but from what i can tell it feels flat
