I just replaced my ez start with a pull starter and i dont have a glow igniter can i use the ez start and just atach the glow wire and will it still heat the glow plug?:surrender

if you have the battery hooked up still and all that and also there is a yellow ground wire that must be attached

I prefere the Great Planes ignitors. Tower has them thats where I got mine.

does your lhs usally haave them in stock or do they have order them mos of them time?
the best thing about this message is I'm in school right now and I'm not supse to be on here right now haha i thught u guys might want t to know that :spit:

he hobbu shops should carry some sort od glow starter. It may not be the same one as above but i am sure they will have a similar one.

get a glow starter, and although i don't have much experience with brands i would recommend dynamites metered c cell starter

b/c as i have seen the best thing to ruin a day out in the yard is the guy that brought his starter but the charge dies. At least with a regular C or D cell starter you can keep a couple extra batteries in your kit and have something to replace the dead one with.

Yup definately best getting a glow starter. I would recomend getting one where it shows you how much charge is left once you put it on the glow plug. then you know to charge it >> http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFBH8&P=SM

I also have a glow starter which you can attach to a much bigger cell. It may not be as portable but its charge lasts for months!! It comes in handy when your tuning your engine in as well.

ok guys i feel like and idiot i have never used a glow ignitor before and i just got one tonight i charged it up and put it on the glow plug when i pull it it wont fire and i puleed the glow plug out then put the ignitor on the plug and there is no heat to it at all i have no idea whats going on any ideas?

Depending on how many maH the battery is, and how many maH the charger is, it can take anywhere between an hour to 24 hours to charge the battery. A good sign to look for that the battery is done is that it will start to get warm.

You can also have a fairly accurate guess of charge time by dividing the maH of the battery by the maH of the charger and the number you get is the number of hours it'll take. Around that number start monitoring it for when it gets warm.

I'm sure its charged it just wont heat the glow plug

Well most of the chargers i have seen say to charge 16-18 hours before first use. What kind of charger are you using?

Make sure the glow plug igniter is on the glow plug (The way your glow plug igniter goes onto the plug varies). If you have a metered one, make sure it's in the green. Check that your plug lights up. Take it out then put it on the igniter, if it glows you'll be fine. If it doesn't, you have a dead plug.

Have you tried on the starter on more then one plug? if not your plug could be dead

lol yh definately charge for at least 18 hours first. If it fails after that then the glow plug might be toast.
