Pull start stuck

Hello everyone I have a inferno mp9 and the pull start is stuck all the way at the bottom I tried turning the wheel under it I removed the sparker so the engine is not flooded I don't know what else to do if you need more info please leave a reply thanks!

Try tapping on the casing of the pull start with a screwdriver, sometimes it's just enough to get the spring to draw it back in again. Try to avoid pulling the string all the way out, you only need short quick bursts to get it started, and it should start on the first pull really. I'd recommend a starter box if you're prepared to carry one around and are into racing your vehicle.

All the way in? Do you mean it is so stiff you can't turn the engine over, is the handle accessible?

Oneway bearing could be jammed on to the starter shaft.Remove the starter an see!

This used to happen to me,. First take off the glow plug and try. If it still is completely stuck. Loosen the screws on the pull-start housing and let us know what happens. ;-)

If you're taking the glow plug out and it's still not turning over, then, like others have said, I'd take out the engine and take off the pull start housing, be careful not to take the pull start apart any further, just take the whole thing off- it's usually attached with 3 or 4 screws. Then, try pulling the string. Does the plastic hole for the one way bearing spin when you pull the cord? If so, then we know it's not the pull start that's the issue. After that (with the one way bearing on the shaft) that the bearing spins freely one way, but locks the other. Make sure it was put on the right way to, so that it locks in a clockwise motion (the way that the bearing housing on the pull start spins.) If that works, then we know it's not the pull start or bearing. Once you have done this, take of the one way bearing and try turning the engine over with the fly wheel. If it is stuck, then we know it is something a bit more serious. But I doubt it's that, so try the above mentioned solutions and then update us

If the flywheel still doesn't spin, then please tell us whether you have been using after run oil, not running it too lean (there is always smoke coming out the exhaust, and it's not screaming, and between 220-230f) also shine a light inside the cylinder and check for any rust, gum or stones/foreign objects that could be stopping the piston from moving in the sleeve. Check the sleeve for scores or scratches too.

How old is the buggy & how many times have you ran it since new?

Sometimes the pistons get stuck in the top of the sleeves pinch!

I was running it pretty lean and at full throttle and it just stopped but I kinda saw the piston move

Its always good to run these engines alittle on the rich side , an after your done running , to always
put the piston down at the bottom out of the sleeve by rotating the flywheel by hand before the
engine cools off.This will give your engine longer life!

So you're saying that it just stopped during running? Did you break it in? I'd try what I mentioned in post #9 and see where things get stuck...

Doesn't sound like it was even broken in. Running it lean and at full throttle?
Time to pull the engine and take it apart. My guess is that you just threw the rod. There's a reason nitro engines need to be broken in AND tuned properly.

I have a feeling this may be the issue too...
