Hey everyone,
I just got a nitro xtm xt2 a few days ago. I have just finished breaking in the engine and last time i went to start it it started and stalled, then when i went to start it again the pull-start was completely stuck. the pull-start wont move at ALL. i have already taken off the pull start and re-coiled it so i know the actual pull start is'nt the problem. Does anyone know what the problem is?
Thanks

seized? did you have the piston at BDC " Bottom Dead Center" I would try to spin the fly wheel to see if the engine turns over

BDC while cooling i should say

ya i usually put it at BDC but honestly i've forgotten a few times. And the flywheel wont turn either. any other ideas?

I'd check the one way bearing first. They're known to fail, and would cause your issue. Not sure where it is on your particular engine. It's either behind the recoil or backplate.

You said your flywheel won't turn at all? If you forgot to put it at BDC the last time you ran it, it may very well just be stuck at TDC. You have to be able to move the flywheel for your engine to start or run, especially on a new engine. Unstick the flywheel. Use a screwdriver and a heatgun/hairdryer if you need to. You can take the backplate/pull start off first and see if you can move the flywheel. If it is a problem with the starter or OWB, you'll have to take it off anyway.

thanks for all your help.
i ended up just taking it to my LHS and the warranty covered a new engine, but the guy who works there said i probably ran it way too lean and busted a bearing
