Whats the best system? I have been using a pull start for as long as i can remember. I converted everything i had to pull start as soon as i got it. Now i picked up this slayer and i have been using the EZ start. I must say, it kinda spoiled me. I went to start my savage and thought, "man i wish this was automated." i was going to convert the slayer to a pull start today put i think i might stick with the ez start. i slap a glow starter on it, spin it over, and voila its running.

whats your opinion

IMHO, the pull start is the easiest to have. You don't have to charge it or anything. Plus, it's easier to not flood your engine with it. It's also convenient for space, so you don't have to lug around a starter. At first they can be a hassle, but once your engine is broken in, it's the best choice.

My preference is RotoStart. Pull start is a PITA sometimes with a newer motor. After it wears in a little...pullstart is much easier. They all have their pros and cons I suppose. Pull start gives you more of a feeling of how tight the motor is, Roto Start is great because you get the ease of electric start without the added weight of an EZ Start, and EZ Start is a no brains way to fire it up, but you have added weight.

Bump Start isn't too bad either, but you need to lug a starter box with you. Boils down to preference really. My preference is Roto ;-)

I am with Moto, I like the Roto. The Tigerdrive is in theory "stronger" but I have never broken a rotostart gear so why do you need stronger? Also the Tigerdrive takes up three times the space of rotostart or pullstart. EZ start is ok I have it on the Jato and Maxx. Pull start is Meeeh....ok I guess but it can be a PITA. Rotostart for me thanks.

+2 for the roto start. Once the engine is broken in AND tuned, pull starts aren't too bad but roto is just too easy and can't be beat IMO. Like Moto said, it's really a personal preference thing.

I used to get horrid blisters between my fingers from the pull starter. PITA. Thats another reason i just hook up a battery and go. :)

but i did like the losi rotostart setup.

roto start it is. i converted the 3.3 and the axial .28 today. So far i love it and the drill works like a charm.
