Well I've heard saltwater has a negative reaction with electronics, maybe the same holds true for lipos?

Salt water reacts chemically with the electrolyte in the batteries causing them to become inert and safe to toss.

So, just a pitcher of saltwater for the night, on a concrete surface and its good to toss in the trash.

Two weeks in salt water then it will be good to toss in the trash can. I Used a spot on the driveway with a 1/2 gal plastic milk jug with the top cut off.
Time to list it on eBay.

If a pile of bad NiMh/Nicad packs with a couple puffy lipos is wort $240, than a pile of puffy lipos is worth......calculating..............a lot.

Rolex's used packs would be uber expensive, since they'd all be polished to a mirror sheen.

Those are fine Rolex, they are just relabled. The same packs as gens more than likely.
Hears something i found out today. I have a rev-tech 2s 6500mah hard case pack and i took it to a guy i know at batteries plus. I asked him to check this lipo and he opened it to make sure it just wasn't the case its self that was puffed. Well it has 4 cells instead of 2 is this normal?
Oh and the lipo is just fine it was only a hear puffed so he rewrapped it for me as a soft pack.

If it's a 2s2p it has 4 cells. The two in series with another two in parallel to add capacity.
2s1p has 2 cells.
When you hear people being scared of charging in parallel, they don't realise that they could be doing that anyway. But you can only see one pack, inside the pack could be parallel cells.

Can lipos puff up in just one spot? I got a traxxas 2s 4000mah 25c, I had a bit of a wreck and now it's starting to puff. It's more like a bubble at the front almost where the wires connect to the pack.

I think it would depend on how the packs wrapped up, or could the bump be a tab or wire bent over inside the pack

It's a soft pack, and the bump is right at front. The wires enter the pack right in middle like vertically, and the bumps starts at the front and maybe goes down a 1/4 inch and stops. The bump is only on one side of the LiPo as well.
