okay guys, figure this one out for me, I'm baffled. When i accelerate, the car gets sideways, and veers to the right. when i brake, it veers to the left. pretty strongly too, enough to make it spin out. the only way I've been able to correct this is to trim it to the right, so it tracks striaght when cruising, or braking, and i just turn the wheels to the left when i accelerate. any ideas? this one has got me stumped. it was running fine the other day, just started doing this.

Check all driveline connections as that would be my first guess as to why it tracks one way while on power and tracks the opposite way while breaking.

u think maybe 1 wheel is getting power and the other isnt? i was thinking of just tightening the diffs down all the way, and testing it that way?

ill try that - seems weird that it would cause that drastic of a response, plus - it ran great just the other day - sometimes these things just baffle me

Yep, my RC10 did that first time I rebuilt a differential. I tightened it back down, took it out a 1/4 turn and has been fine since :)

Basically this is what happenend to me, one side would be getting the power while the other was slipping, since one side will be tighter than the other when I have a loose diff. So the left side would pull under acceleration, and the opposite when braking. :)

Try those out. And just to make sure, make sure your steering assembly is nice and tight, and your toe is set up right :)

Just a few ideas. Tell us the end to the problem when you get it worked out. :)

i checked the diffs at lunch and they seem pretty tight - should i still tighten them down all the way? the toe is correct 1degree out on both sides. and i dont use the servo saver.

Toe out?! I'd want straight in that catagory, but it it worked for you....

Well, go by your manual... Mine says tightened down then back off 1/4 turn.. Go by what your manual says. I'm not sure about the TC3, haven't done much with them yet. :D

Follow it exactly, if you don't have the manual, find it online, it's on Associated's website somewhere, I just can't remember. And with my 28.8k I think you'd probably rather find it than me. lol

28.8k ouch that hurts. I am sorry for you. I wouldnt even surf the web if I had to dial up. How arcaic.

yes aod - i have the manual - and it lists all different type of diff settings and what they do - i was gonna tigheten them in all the way just to see if thats the problem - also gonna check the tires (running 30mm foams) and see if that might be the reason

Could be the problem. Remember, something that has a problem will pull it to it's side (usually). I had a proline tire blow a knot about the size of a quarter, and that was one HECK of a handling problem.

So don't forget to check everything :)

okay how weird is this - went out to run my car yesterday - and find out the problem. There isnt one anymore - tracked straight as an arrow. Go figure. Maybe somehting was just binding and cleared itself up. I have a race tonight, so we shall see.....
