7 days ago bought ansmann virus buggy for son for christmas, did the break in by the book, on its first propper run out just stopped engine still reving up just no movement checked all the screws and checked engine even put new clutch in please help any suggestions?

Sounds like the flywheel could have come loose. When revving the engine, watch the disc at the front of the engine, and see if it, or the gear train, moves.

You need to check the slipper and the clutch first. Look at the big spur gear also. It could be stripped. If it turns when you rev the engine, the problem is forward of that. The trans, diffs or driveshafts.
Post your info, and we'll get you running.

I am assuming you have the RTR model.

In most 1/8th rtr buggies, the user should check the screws for proper tightening. The clutch system on them are the same as any other nitro where there is a flywheel, clutch shoes, springs and a clutchbell. If the clutch system spins freely and has good mesh on the center diff gear I would look at the drive train on each corner. Check to make sure that all dogbones or universals spin when you spin the center diff.

Do all this when the engine is off.

Please let us know what you find out.

same problem

Hi I have a similar problem.

The front and the rear wheels spin in the opposite directions when I lift the buggy off the ground. I rebuilt the centre diff and added 3K oil , still the same.

What am I doing wrong?
