ok so the boy is having a problem with his pede and i can't figure it out. maybe you guys can help.

It has the new traxxas esc on it (the blue one) i calibrated it and everything and he got a few pack through it before it started acting funny. now the steering works fine, but i got no go. the little light blinks when you apply throttle like its getting the signal but the motor doesn't turn. I can hear a faint whine like its trying but nothing. I checked for free movement in the drivetrain and it spins fine, i also checked the bullet connectors to the motor and they are on there good. its a fresh pack as well. should i send in the esc or try something else first?

If I were to hazzard a guess I would say the ESC is fried, but double check all the wiring and connections to be sure before you send it in. Maybe try to recalibrate it as well--the one in my Slash (same ESC) kinda "froze" up on me after the first pack and I had to do it on mine. Solved the problem and hasn't happened again.

Good luck!

Use a voltmeter and hook up to the motor leads on the endcan. While the leads are touching, pull the throttle to see if you have full voltage. If you do, the motor is dead.

Had this happen to me before. You fried the motor. I'm about 90% sure you did.

i got up to a little over 8v on the leads at full throttle, so i guess the motor is bad. oh well at least they are cheep!!

edit: anyone know of any way to bring it back to life?

If it is the stock traxxas motor you can not fix it, even if you could you would be better off just buying a new stock one or upgrading to something with a removable end bell so you can true the commutator and replace the brushes when they ware out or you could just get a stock replacement from charliestheman over at east end machining here is a link to it, http://www.eastendmachining.com/moti12t1550s.html also I think chalie is doing some thing special for RCNT members that buy from EEM, so check with him befor you place your order..

Benson PM me your address i'll send you a speedgem for free. I don't need it any more and you do so if you want it just PM me.

Blake. Thats motor and speedie were both brand new and had never seen a battery. They came out of my Slash before I brushlessed it, (is that a word) so maybe send it back, they have been sending out replacement Titans without question lately.
With all the E revo's and 16.8 E maxx's and Slash's I'm guessing they're getting sick of DOA 550's.
But I am sorry for even more delays. I really had hoped everything would have been good.....
