I use a reese locking hitch pin and today I wanted to remove it but the lock doesn't seem to be working, the key turns but it doesn't unlock....Any ideas how to get this thing off without using a torch?

I would have drilled it but the key ended up getting stuck in the lock. I decided to give the dremel a try...three cutting disks and less than 5 minutes I had it off!

it was probably bound up with dirt and crap. i would have soaked it with wd40 or pb blaster if you had the time. guess its off now so doesn't really matter.

It was only a month old, no dirt and no rust, the key actually turned easy but it would not unlock.

Damn. thats the exact same one i have on my truck. I havent taken it off in over a year..... might need to check on that.

I had problems with mine a while back.

A little MMO fixed it.

My favorite fix for a sticky lock like that is some white lithium grease.

Yet another use for a dremel tool!
