I have a Airtronics 92765/72 receiver and ni-cad battery pack and had to replace the connector on the ni-cad pack. In the process I forgot the polarity of the connection. The only thing I remember is that the red wire goes in the middle.
Can someone remind me which way it goes. The receiver has three pins, but the ni-cad pack has only two wires.
I think that if I connect backwards, the receiver will be toast. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I have attached pictures.

I have been able to find info that says the polarity was switched in the plugs but I am not sure when it was done.
Curious if you tried Airtronics directly for this info or for a proper manual.
I would THINK that this is set up like a modern reciever is today. (red pos in middle, black neg outside)
I believe the second picture you posted has the plug oriented correctly.

I keep finding this info and it keeps me unsure.
Yeah, I was looking yesterday as well and it seems the old Airtronics stuff was like that. But I did find an older Airtronics Rx where they changed to the transparent blue housing, that did have the now standard orientation of the wires with the positive lead in the middle.

That is what I thought initially, however, when I put the red, positive wire on the outside of the plug, and it started working!, Wala!
I am just happy I did not fry the receiver.
Thanks for the input though.

I'm happy it worked out for you! I am curious to know now... are ALL Airtronics like this? I also read they had changed to the modern middle hot config but no one said WHEN! 🤣
I do not know when they did this. I was flying with this old Airtronics radio back just after I retired from the Navy in 1988. I looked in a manual for this radio and did not see anything about the positive wire being moved. Only when I found a really old manual on the internet, I was able to conjure up the courage to try switching the wires. Up until then I thought the receiver was toast. What did I have to loose then. Very interesting.

In the mean time, I bought a receiver off of ebay for $15. Nothing like a spare.

Like having a spare post in case one gets deleted!!!😉 👍🤣

Now you can run 2 with that radio. Not a total loss. 😎
This old radio and servos are for a static yet functional display. It is a YMF5 1/6 SCALE WACO that I boned up but never covered. I plan to hang it just that way. I could never get it to balance properly unless I added a done of lead to the engine compartment. I like the way it looks without skin.
When I get it all back together, I will post some pictures. Might try posting a video. Is that allowed?
