Good morning to all-
Now, Fellers, I have flown my little rc planes in the company of a wide range of birds in the past- never any problems have I had.
And this morning early, I was again spending my non-productive time down at the flying field with one of my Eflite umx Waco biplanes just tootling around doing some basic aerobatics. Very nice it was.

And then almost before it could register with me, my little biplane was joined in flight by a very large bird which was flying close formation with it. Fellers, I am something of an amateur ornithologist, and I am pretty good at bird ID, but this was surely the easiest bird identification I've ever been called upon to do. An adult bald eagle was flying in perfect wing-man formation with my little plane, and the bird kept its position all the way across the flying field. It made no movement toward my plane and it surely did not spook away in fright. Just stayed in formation until we reached the far side of the field. The eagle went left and I went right .

I flew the little biplane back to the landing road, and I watched the departing eagle until it disappeared behind the trees away east of the field.

Fellers, I was honored to have the privilege of flying with such a creature.

That must have been a shock to see! We have lots of Eagles here in northern MN, and I feel privileged to see them every time. I was out in a kayak fishing early morning, and had one dive-bomb into the lake pretty close to where I was and emerge with a nice largemouth bass. He flew across the lake into the woods for a nice breakfast. They are just amazing to watch.

SuperFLY91- I see eagles and ospreys quite often when I go kayak fishing down here on the Gulf Coast. I love to catch big redfish in my kayak. What sort of 'yak do you fish from?

I've got a couple cheap ones, and one decent fishing kayak. It's a Pescador Pro 12 foot "sit on top" style. It's a little on the heavy side, but stable enough that you can stand up to cast with a little practice. I only use it on small lakes up here in Minnesota, but it's one of the most fun ways I've found to fish. I love sneaking up on a school of pan fish and trying to sight-fish them without spooking them.

SuperFLY91- I know that kayak very well- I have two of them and use them a lot. I've cartopped mine from the Florida Keys to Louisiana and everywhere in between. They are good stable fishing kayaks. Do you fly fish from yours?

I haven't fly fished from it, but lots of freshwater bass and walleye fishing. That's a nice looking catch in your profile picture...what is it?

Good afternoon to all- Lord, Brother, I've kayak fished a lot of places in LA. Cocodrie, Shell Beach, Venice, Burris, Lake Charles, Grand Isle- I do love Louisiana fishing, but those Louisiana police sure do love me and my Alabama out of state license plate... got to leave a bit of fine money over there...

Good afternoon to all- Brother, that is a snook I met up with in Belize, Central America. Did NOT catch it on a flyrod. Extremely strong and powerful fish they are. Lots of fun down there- big fish and howler monkeys up in the trees and crocodiles grinnng at you from the shoreline...
