I put an Arrma 4s system in An old Hyper 7PBS for my nephew to run. On a 19 tooth pinion its fast enough to keep him happy but the temps get too high for comfort (it's heavy). I have an Arrma 2050kv from my Kraton I thought about trying in it. Would that work or cause a slow moving fireball?

Probably too much motor and weight for a 4S esc. Can probably find a blx185 relatively cheap.

I'm going the other direction currently on my stampede 4x4, got a blx185 driving a 3665 3100kv motor on 3S. Hottest so far on the esc was 96F. Motor got to 140F I think. It's probably lighter than a 1/8th buggy though.

The weight is exactly where I went wrong. The 2400kv on 4S might make the lighter Arrma 4S line fly, but it didn't have enough torque. Will the 2050kv fry the esc?

It won't do it any favors, but it will likely try to pull more amps than the 4S esc can supply, which in theory should drive the heat up and it will shut down. Unless it pulls so many amps that it kills it before it has a chance to disable itself.

That was my concern. I can't find any data on the amp draw of the Blx 2050kv. I've been reading up on doing the math but I officially understand less than I did before I started reading. Lol. I was under the impression that higher Kv motors draw more amps, and lover Kv motors handled higher voltage. That made me figure the 2050 should be ok as far as amperage. 🤕

Bigger motors draw more amps, which the 2050kv is, it's a 4074 vs the 3670 2400kv motor. The BLX185 is rated for 150A and it's not overly hard to overheat it with the 4074 2050kv. I upped my outcast to the max6 which is 160A in hopes I could run the 2050kv 1 tooth higher without overheating it in the 15-18 minute time frame I run on a set of packs. Bonus was the more capable BEC as well.

Update: After refilling the diff oil in all 3 diffs? It's a bit angrier. All of them were dry. I put 200k in the center 30k rear and 60k front. She's waaaaay more aggressive. The 2400kv is still getting hot though. But it's definitely moving now.
