quick version, how do i find the max weight a servo can handle if its not in the name? (ie 45kg blue amazon)

long version
i have a "bad" servo, in the king sling, @xjtorc suggested its probably a chipped tooth. I'm going to open it up and see if i can flip the gear, but i got to thinking, i have a now unused nsdrc servo from the tekno, but when i go to the website it doesn't show me a weight for it to push? or a rating for it, like suggested for 5 lb vehicles.
I'm wondering if i could throw the nsdrc servo onto the king sling and it NOT kill out the servo?

https://nsdrcscaleparts.com/collections/servos/products/rs450-high-performing-budget-servo

the sling weighs around 10 lbs,

damaged servo is a MKS Servos X6 HBL599 Brushless Titanium Gear High Torque Digital Servo

The rating for the NSDRC servo is over to the right on the page you shared.

Unfortunately, LMTs eat servos for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and there isn’t much you can do to stop them. Getting rid of the heavy ass stock wheels and tires helps tremendously (shaves a whole pound off the truck to switch to a Tributes and Renegades).

I’ve ruined a Reefs 500, MKS 550, and other high ends servos in my LMTs over the years. Running straight into something will eat up servo teeth 9 out of 10 times in the LMT. The good thing about MKS is the lifetime warranty. You also, usually, can rotate the damaged gear 180 degrees and it’ll function just fine until you wreck it again lol.

Right here on your first link bro. You're looking for the torque, which will depend on the voltage your BEC supplies. So at 7.4v, the servo in the first link could apparantly lift a 415oz (25lb) object with a 2" horn on it. Stall torque just means that is where the motor can't take any more 😉

Sorry, I didn't see you replied while I was looking at the servo page.

@majin - just be mindful, steering is not what is the major problem with servos taking abuse. It's the hits they take. So while that servo might be able to handle steering a 20+lb RC around quite easily, even with lots of scrub steer and big fat tires, taking a hit with those big ass tires and all that vehicle weight is going to put a LOT more torque on your servo with each hit (hence - servo savers). So when it comes to torque ratings... buy what you can afford, especially on any vehicle where the wheels are exposed and take a good beating during cartwheels and such.

omylanta... it was staring my right in the face and i just couldnt see it ... can't get the servo saver off, so its being a real pita to set zero, I'm having to turn the potentiometer thing and trying to find nuetral, its been a struggle, no teeth were broken but i did have a nut on the back of the servo arm that was catching on the servo case, i think that may have been causing my issue but i can't get zero to reset yet. lol good times

Pry the horn off there

Huh? How the hell? lol

If moving that nut doesn't solve the issue, crack open the servo case and see what's going on inside. Seems like it's only doing it when resetting from a left turn which I've had happen after chipping a tooth on an internal gear.

My man. Take the servo off the axle! 😂

Now I’m wondering if you just cranked the saver on too tight lol. Did you loosen the clamp set screw?
i had it off the axle previously , just put it back on to try to set it up, now it wont stop turning tho, if i turn left it goes in circles after i let off the wheel, instead of returning to nuetral position. left or right and its doughnut time lol,

You gotta pry that thing(servo saver) off, remove that servo from the truck and put it all back together.
That truck needs a direct power servo which the rs450b is not? You need the rs500b. The 450 should handle it no problem but, in the future get a direct power.
I dont know what you did with that potentiometer if, that’s what that is. Don’t worry about it. Heat up the saver a bit and pry it off using a razor blade or super thin screwdriver.
@WickedFog , that was funny what you said man.
@xjtorc you said it.

@majin and my son need to go head-to-head to see who can break what the fastest. It should be a level competition; the same vehicle, same battery, same everything. Obviously, there has to be a mud pit involved. ;)
