i have just bought a tornado s30 and it is a refurbished model. i was just wondering do i still have to break in the engine?

Telling by the fact that it is refurbished, not likely.
but if you want to feel satisfied try to just do one break in tank then see how it goes

How do you "refurbish" an rc? go through the entire break in procedure. It was probably a rebuilt motor. So YES DO THE ENTIRE BREAK IN, not just one tank. Even if it has been previously been broken in, it wont hurt it to do it again. Dont risk it. Next time, dont get a offbrand RC. It wont last near as long as a more popular brand (losi, HPI, Traxxas, Ofna....ETC)

You can pull the plug out and spin it over, if it is tight at top dead center then it is a good idea to listen to Alpine. If there is no resistance then I would report it to the place you bought it from and see if they will help you out. I have never heard of a "refurbished" RC, I wouldn't put a lot of money into it, have fun with it, let it push you to your limits and once it is done, buy a name brand RC, then you will truly see the difference in quality. Good luck.
