Well, just about half way into tank 9, the spur started slipping like crazy, so i need to tighten the slipper.... I will do it and continue break in... It is blowing smoke like crazy through the entire rpm range.. still spitting raw fuel at idle...

I hear from most people who get that engine you should do a very slow break in on it.....something about the sleeve being a harder metal (brass?) than most sleeves and you really want it to run rich for the first 10-15 tanks.....it's a bitch cause it takes long but the guys that told me to do it that way have put over 5 gallons through a mill that most are getting 3....just what I've seen....and I agree if it's spinning the tires I don't think you need to lean it out any more....

The low end is still really boggy... i think I'm done for the day though, i need to adjust the rear diff and do a check up on all of the screws. Thanks for the help, ill probably get back on it on Wednesday or so.. maybe wait till friday..

than rolex is, but he's a smart guy!
Totally wrong. Who started THAT rumor? LOL

Sorry, I need to clear up my previous post. You can start to run it to WOT, in short passes, as long as you are still at a richer setting to continue the break in. Do not lean the HSN for performance at this point. I don't performance tune till they've gotten at least a dozen tanks through them.

I havent tuned for performance... Its still really rich.. My temp gun is not getting good readings, i think its because of the shiny head... so i have to go by thought. The clutch in the rear diff is slipping too much, so it looks like its only front wheel drive... I need to adjust that, then try to get it to shift to second gear.

Yeah, i gotta tear down the whole rear end... so yes, i will snap ya a pic when i get to it.

Do you think it loosened up or it was just like that and now you're applying more HP to it....I'm curious cause I have a set of the 1/10 scale bulkless system and want to know what I can put in them to make em strong enough to run BB mills w/ them....

I think that i need to add a washer to each side, because both tires dont spin when I'm on the power. I dont think anything loosened up, because there is nothing to loosen up, so i just need to add another washer, and that should take care of things. I think the power has a lot to do with it as well. I'll probably start tearing her down around wednesday night.

Cool, i just got my new tranny case today, so thats another thing i need to install... one of the last parts i needed. I went to al. tranny case becuase i figure with all this horsepower, the plastic might flex and strip some gears...

Totally... I think that is the only part that really sticks out... because it is black plastic..

Yeah, I had one:

It went from this:

to this:

I sold it full of RRP gears and RC-Solutions spur for $145... kind of makes you sad doesn't it.

Wow, maybe i could get more than that for mine, since i have the $130 OTB gears now... ;-)

Wow, am I late getting into this, but I have to say that is one wery nice looking Maxx .21Rc10GT!

I'm gonna start tearin her down tonight! i will try to get that pic of the diff.
