Anyone know of the general cost of getting a paint repair done on the roof of a car? I believe I was struck by something a week or so ago, then with all the rain and freezing we've had, I now have a pock mark on my roof about the size of a silver dollar.

Nothing fancy, just white like a cop car.

Just curious what kind of price I'm looking at to get it fixed so it doesn't spread any more. There isn't a dent or scratch in the primer, so I'm not sure what really happened.

I knew buying another solid color car would bite me in the butt! Had a black car (my screen name) a while back and the paint on it looked horrible. General info, don't buy a black car at night! lol

That all depends on who you take it to, where it is on your roof and how much you want to spend. If it's solid white it can be spotted in fairly easily without being to noticeable.

One trick that you can temporarily use to save money and prevent rust is to use nail polish. Get a bottle that closely matches the car, and apply hahaha.

I'm really not sure what someone would charge for that, because I drive trail machines, and each scratch or dent you get is like a badge of honor LOL!

Good luck, man! :)

It's just my daily driver, but other than the new paint defect, the car is in pristine condition and I don't want it getting worse. It's almost in the center of the car between the windshield and front of the sunroof.

Just kind of bugs me and I know if I get the car washed, I"m running the risk of having it flake up even more on me. Considering I wash my cars almost on a weekly basis... it's going to kill me not to wash it!

Solid white old mans car ;):

Bought it last april, that's a dealer photo of it.

OH, I LOVE those cars! I'm a big car fanatic myself - anything less than 18 feet long is a mini to me :).

But really, that is a very nice looking ride! I simply love floating down the road on a waterbed suspension, listening to a good CD and taking in the sights. Classic. :)

Depending on who you take it to, you should be able to have it repaired for $200 to $500. It will be cheaper and you'll get a better job if you can find someone who specializes in bumpers and touch ups. If you know the dealership where you purchased the car then ask them to guide you in the right direction. A lot of the time dealers use mobile repair techs to do small repairs on the lot.

Maaco does cheap paint jobs, I've seen some that look spectacular by them and some that look like ass!!!

I'll have to check around this week to see what I can find locally that won't take more than a day of not having the car.

Figures... it's due for a set of tires. Guess I'll spend that $600 to fix a paint chip instead. At least winter is almost over.
