Well, with recent health issues with my wife, I'm having financial issues, so the nitro rigs are being put into their respective storage places for a few months. At least until I save up enough to pay what I'll owe for taxes and new tires on my 1:1 car.

Just thought I'd share the sadness...

No, nothing like that. Every time I drive, yes, I burn up gas, but I always get the itch to upgrade something. With it being winter, things break more often. By the time the weather is more agreeable, the finances should be taken care of.

It's time for a little break is all.

Thanks for the offer though.

I'm sorry to hear about the string of bad luck. Hope all goes well for ya, and hope to see ya up and bashin again soon. Take care man!

Hope your wife gets better soon. I know you've helped me out tremendously with your advice. Even though the cars are packed away, I hope you still come and contribute to the board with your knowledge.

Sorry to hear about your wifes health issues. I am glad to see however you are not going the i'm tired of this route, and selling all your rigs. Store em right and when your ready again they will be too.

Like I said, it will be just for a few months to help save the wallet gouging for taxtime.

I love driving them. I enjoy the mechanical side of them too much to stop the hobby. But it's the upgrading of the mechanical side that kills me. Since I primarily drive the savage, I don't break stuff often, but I do break things. And everytime I make it to the LHS, I leave with no less than $150 spent. Especially since I got the little Nitro MT. It needs a few more upgrades...

Olds97_lss, I feel sorry to hear that. Hope everything will go well.

Take a short break is not a bad idea IMO :)

i hope your wife gets well and i know you have helped me out a bunch too but while your rc's are put away still come out and give even more advice.

No worries guys, my wife is ok now. About 6 months back, she had to be hospitalized to get rid of a migraine as she is a chronic migraine sufferer. It was the worse one she ever had and nothing she could get at the pharmacy via her dr was helping. So we went to the hospital. She was in there for 6 days. The first 4 on a constant morphine drip and the last 2 just on normal stuff to get her off the morphine.

Thing is, that little stay in the hospital cost us about 8 grand out of pocket. We had to dip into my 401k to cover the costs and whenever you do that, you get the crap taxed out of you. Thank god we got our accountant involved and he finagled a way to help us not get taxxed as bad since it was for medical costs, but we will get hit some anyway.

Before her migraines got bad about 2 years or so ago, she was a workaholic and was making decent $. She has since quit her job and when she tried to go back to work is when she got the killer migraine that put her in the hospital.

So, between losing her income and the hospital bills, it's been an annoying year financially. With what I make, we can live and live well, but it's an adjustment none the less that doesn't allow for $8,000 hiccups.

Thanks for your concern though. It's appreciated. She is fine and has been pretty much ok for about 4 months now, aside from the occasional headache. It's a battle that we have been going through for about 4 years.
