HI peoples,

Just wondering if anyone else has had a hard time with www.hobbyetc.com. Here's the scenario. I won some extended tvp's for my savage and this requires the extended rear dogbone. I ordered the new era models Titanium extended rear dog bone from them through their site with some other stuff as well. I paid for some quick shipping. Ok I received no confirmation receipt or anything but that didn't bother me so much. They did send me a tracking number for when it was sent. Ok so today when I got home I was all stoked to see that it had arrived. When I opened it up I was looking for everything I ordered and found a receipt and looked at it. It listed every item. When it came to the dog bone it was circled and in pencil it said SORRY, OUT OF STOCK, REFUND. They didn't even call me or email me so I could make other arrangements. I am just really let down with their way of business. I have contacted them to see what they have to say but we shall see. I guess I am wondering if anyone has had a bad experience with them too. Can't say I want to order from them again. Funny but out of all the parts I ordered this was the most important one. Sorry but it's seriously just been one of those days. Tried to install a new three shoe clutch on my picco and the clutch nut got stuck on the crank. I mean stuck so I had to pull off the backplate to make that work. Pretty much put it all back together and I lost the spring that go's in the pullstart, than the pullstart came apart on me and pretty much slapped me in the face. I just gave up for the night. Damnit. Sorry for the long ass post.

nope never oredered aything from them but from my exsperience the best most reliabe paces to buy stuff from is

TOWER HOBBIES

and

RC MODELS

they both give you nitifacations alog the way and yes they do for out of stock items too i recently ordered a new peak charger from rcmodels and itwas out of stock they sent a reply and sad tey were and gave me a choice to wait for it to come in, buy something else, or just get a refund i chose to wait it was instock in 5 days and now it sould be here sometime today and they both have great tracking too

That would bug the crap outta me too.

If it were my company and I found that I couldn't fill a customer's order I would notify them via an email, apologize for the stock shortage and suggest four options:

1. Ship parts in stock and backorder unfulfilled items.
2. Ship parts in stock and cancel unfulfilled items.
3. Hold shipment until order complete.
4. Cancel order entirely.

Shipping an order short without any notification is bullcrap.

My wife purchased about $200 worth of stuff for me for Christmas from: http://www.lightninghobby.com/

They actually called her to let her know that one of the parts wasn't in stock and as soon as it was, they would overnight it free of charge. It showed up 1 day after the original package which was 2 days after the call. They also backed it up with an apology email and confirmation of everything that was shipped.

Needless to say, I continue to do business with them whenever I can.

That's the way to run a business, Olds... Don't meet the customer's expectations, exceed them.

Yeah I seriously don't know what happened there. I have never ordered from them before and well I believe I will not order from them again. I am just waiting now to see if I will get my money at all back from them. I would have ordered from tower but they didn't have any of the stuff I needed. I was lookin for alloy parts for my savage. Man this just hasn't been my weekend for R/C at all.

Hey Newnitro - Sorry to hear about this dude, I hope they take care of ya. It's rare that I order on the net as my LHS's take great care of me and match tower (no shipping plus their price). WHen I do order on the net, It's usually tower and they've always been great to do buisness with.

THeir's a plethora of online hobby retaliers both huge and mom and pop. If your coming up in the game and competing with the big boys like Tower you need to provide outstanding service in general. It's hard to believe that they'd do buisness in this fashion.

I have ordered once from hobbyetc without any problems. But if this is how they operate on items not in stock, I will think twice about ordering from them again. I hope they don't pull the store credit crap on you and not actually give your money back.

My last order with Tower was for 2 servos. One was out of stock when they went to pull it. Not only did I get an e-mail letting me know to contact them, I also had a message on my answering machine letting me know. Thats what I call customer service.

Again I usually do go with my LHS but I know there are some parts that they just don't have in. I am going to give these guys a call on Monday to see what their sad song is. I dunno I would've expected better. I already put the part on order at new era models so it should get here next century or sumthin. LOL

Heya guys, Just thought I would update this thread. I logged into my bank account yesterday on line to see if they had processed their credit for me. Well it seems that they debited the money from my account instead of refunding it to me. This caused an overdraft fee. I called there this morning and explained the situation and he said what do you want me to do about it. I told him I wanted my money back. He said he would refund $24.50, which in reality he had $49.00 of my money. Now I am into a $25.00 over draft fee. Damn people. I asked that they refund the full amount plus the over draft fee. He said he would split the over draft fee. I don't know if everyone has an expereince like this with them. I know for sure I will not order from them again.

I ordered some Mini-t stuff and it was sent promptly. I had one experience with them so I don't feel comfortable endorsing them but I had no problem.

Blazer given that they didn't even contact me, instead of refunding my money, charging me again and aren't willing to pay the full overdraft fee. I feel I can't spend my money there. I know the overdraft is not their fault because I should have enough money in there but reality is that it's still a few more days to payday and well I pretty much run out of money before the time is up.

Insufficient funds in your account is no excuse for crappy customer service.
-They didn't contact you regarding an out of stock item
-They didn't refund your money immediately
-When they did try to refund your money they charged you AGAIN!
-and they cost you an extra $25 in overdraft fees

You have every right to be angry. If I were you I'd bust their balls until you get the full amount plus the overdraft fee. The fact is they screwed up.
