I was just wondering what other interesting MTs there are on the market, I have savages....what do you guys like?

savage is on the top of many peoples list. Losi make one to thats pretty sweet looking I've never seen one ran but i have a savage xl and a t maxx 2.5 and the savage is really tuff truck. revo is another one that is good it will pretty much out handle any mt on the market and its stronger out the box than the t maxx but hands down if you want tough get a savage

t maxx's can be made to be tough tho i regularly jump mine and since i have upgraded the bulks to rpm and some aftermarket shocks and rpm arms along with some titanium hinge pins for the arms my maxx is tough. all traxxas parts are probably the easiest to find which is a major selling point for many people but savage parts are also very easy to find

Ya that's kinda what I thought, that's why my first MT was a savage, I was just looking around and noticed everything I have has to do with HPI. Then I though wonder if I'm missing out by not giving a different brand a shot.

Ok not everything is HPI but.....savages stuff in general.

I've got one of each: revo 3.3, t maxx 2.5 with 3.3, and a savage xl thats pretty much all aluminum I'm actually trying to sell both my savages right now. I drive my maxx the most tho.

Losi's LST XXL is almost a mix between a Revo and a Savage (imo), it is tough (Savage) but handles great (Revo). So, it can out handle a Savage while outbashing a Revo. I've never run a Savage, but I have seen (on here) that they can take some serious abuse but handle like you'd expect a MT to. Everyone knows that Traxxas' MTs take some key upgrades to be bashable, the Maxx is more of a classic MT while the Revo is a modern day race inspire MT. I really like my LST though, I just wish the aftermarket support wasn't so dead....I mean, even Horizon Hobby stopped making upgrades for it. Dynamite had some of the best "key" upgrade parts for the LST line, and now they don't make them, Dynamite and Losi are both owned my Horizon (for those that didn't know).

I have 3 savages , an LST2, Revo, Emaxx, EK4... Next to the Savage, the Revo is my next favorite.

My Maxx series trucks are my favorites, followed by my revo's. I like the T maxx best because you can customize the truck to your liking the easiest because there are still so many aftermarket support for the maxx rigs.

So I'm surfing this morning and come across a TXT-1, and I have a few questions?

A). Is it a crawler, or an MT
B). Can aftermarket parts be had for them?

I have Savages too and if I was gettin something else I think it would be a Revo. The Revo goes in a different direction than a savage. Savages are THE bashers and a is Revo racer. I think it would be fun to have both.

Since you have savages, you will be inclined to drive the revo like one. Now while the revo handles far better, it can't take as much abuse without some upgrades.

Rear wing kit
RPM arms/carriers
NewEra roll bar (if you can find one)
Spring mounted header (trust me, they snap off so easily it's not funny)
Variable shock damper kit (lets it take bigger air without being really bouncy on the small stuff.
Alloy rear skid (the little tab that holds the pins in gets snapped off easily, especially if the plastic skid gets warn, then you lose hinge pins. I also made a little 3/16" steel plate to help protect the alloy one from grinding down)
Alloy front-center skid (not the part that goes to the bumper, but the second half as this is a core stress point and if the plastic one snaps, it's likely to take the bulkhead with it)

I have all the above and I bash my savage and revo pretty much with reckless abandon. And both hold up just fine. :)

There are other trucks guys lol. I have a Schumacher Havoc which is a solid truck and pretty dammed quick too. Technically it's slightly smaller than a savage but it's got attitude in spades

There is a big divide though, most of the members (including the OP) in this thread are in North America so they're mentioning the common rigs there. There are a few rigs that are big here in the UK but aren't available there.

Buy a truggy,..makes a better basher then even a Savage but with awesome performance and offroad capabilities......

I wish I had read some of these discussions before buying. I run a t-maxx 2.5 classic with a 3.3 engine. I do not regret the 3.3 engine. I just wish I knew in the beginning that the 2.5 truck and 3.3 truck were different trucks... at first I thought a t-maxx was a t-maxx was a t-maxx... Tough when it is your checkbook that pays for your ignorance. I have a 3.3 body and cage that is waiting for a 3.3 truck!!!!!lol
