Opinions on Konect electronics?

Yes, it’s 6mm longer than the buggy motor. It’ll just weigh a few grams more, and you’ll need to dial some power out of it to soften it up. The good news is, it’ll be crazy fast, and run cool as it’s not going to have to work hard at all..
Do you have any suggestions on esc settings and gearing?

I do not. I’m a Tekin guy for the last 30yrs, and values differ wildly between ESC manufacturers-even if they’re re-branded Hobbywing. As popular as Konect is with the Euro drivers though-a quick search of Google, and YouTube should yield the results you’re looking for from pro-drivers, to club racer guys.

A very quick search took me right to where I needed to be. 😎

I’ve spoken directly with Reno a time or two over the years, and he’s a good dude. Being a Kyosho Pro driver is just a bonus in your situation, so here’s the link to his personal setup/settings pages.. Keep in mind-he’s running the 2050kV, so you’ll likely want to soften yours up a bit on the bottom, and limit some power/RPM up top-but it should get you close to where you want to be.

I found that one as well. Since I am limiting the throttle, should I run a bit of turbo timing to get the top speed that I need? Does that sound like a good solution?
You CAN, but I’d likely do that with pinion, considering how much more torque that motor will have over the buggy can. -as you obviously have the ability to do whatever you want with the program card-you’re options are unlimited. For what it’s worth-I don’t run any added timing to my 2250 Tekin in my TRUGGY, and it’s an absolute MISSLE. I doubt you’ll need to in your buggy. 😎

Sounds good! I deleted the comment because I found all the answers I needed in your response, except for the one about turbo timing. But now I understand! I’ll try running a bigger pinion, as you mentioned the truggy motor will have more torque than a buggy motor. By increasing the mechanical disadvantage, I’ll get less torque but more manageable torque.

Absolutely. And no worries regarding deleting a comment/question even if it’s answered through your own searching, or via a direct reply to it. Keeps as much useful information here on the forum, that helps others later on who may come across your thread searching for answers to your very same questions. We want the next guy to have an easier time gathering good information than we did if at all possible. Helps us continue to build a good quality forum, with a wealth of knowledge, over a solid foundation. 😎🍻

Alright will just add another comment in the future instead of deleting. Thanks again for all the help!:):thumbs-up:

You’re good man, and no problem at all! Have fun with the new setup, and we look forward to seeing it in the car! 🍻🤘

I will get it around christmas/new year so just about a month of waiting. Might run it at home this winter, although only in dry conditions. Hopefully there will be some days with no snow, not usually something I hope for in the winter. 😆

That wasn't a slight on Konect, I just thought that they were priced close to (or same as) HW so unless they have some custom programming or whatnot I don't see what would get racers to go with Konect over HW. 🤷‍♂️
I do like the details, even their cases are machined differently and the power buttons are different, so obviously effort was put in!

Edit: Castle and Tekin are almost non existent in Europe, there's some Castle in bashing and Tekin in racing, but probably in the single percents compared to HW and its rebrands.

I don't know where OP is from, but I've only seen Konect in a couple of EU stores.
Yeah, I was just saying maybe Konect will be the next HW 😉

That was my thoughts too. I have vaguely heard of Konect, but never saw any of their stuff. It being French made, I assumed it's likely only around Europe that you'll see their stuff.

But the price for the Konect stuff actually doesn't look bad, unless you compare it to HW's current black Friday deals. Holy cow.

Glad the guys got you sorted out. You'll have to keep us updated. And lots of pics. You've been here a few minutes already, and no pics. That's grounds for disciplinary action. @DavidB1126 bring the water boarding equipment and the chocolate milk 😁
