how much is shipping going to be it can't be cheap

I have no idea, but after what i payed for the car, i'm not too concerned, A little, but it's not likely to be so expensive that I won't find a way to have it sent.

USPS has a flat rate for packages, you are limited on size of the box but the the rate is only like $7.00.

Thank You for the info, I'm sure my wife is tracking whatever package rates are for her to here. I just can't wait till fuel gets here. I'm hoping to hear from Amoeba soon that the test quart, (not qaart) is on it's way. To get a taste of it and have to park it again is killing me. I keep telling myself I should have went electric.

Revo kicks ass here

The revo is definately a good choice for this terrain. A few guys here have electric buggies but the smaller tires makes for a rough ride. They are getting pretty beat up by the random big rocks that blend in well with the small ones making them hard avoid. The revo has so far been able to pretty much roll over just about anything in its path (except for a no longer used grounding rod that was equally hard to see) and so far without any nonsuperficial damage. I now use my remaining stickers to "reinforce" the high traffic portions of the body. yeah, i know it's a no traffic area, but let's face it, most teenage girls can drive cars better than i can handle this truck. I'm just grateful it can take a beating.

On another note, I have contacted usps about how to send fuel here legally as well as contact our REAR D commander to see what he can do to ship it here using military channels. For all you generous members wanting to help us out with fuel, i may have a stateside address for you soon to ship to where it will be forwarded to me legally. Once it gets here, I have access to resources to get it to nearly anyone in this country. Amoeba is shipping a test quart here soon and to be honest, I doubt there will be any issues getting here. Just takes clever labeling, not lying, that's illegal. I believe I already posted the answer I got from post office here in regards to inbound mail not being inspected and to just label it hobby supplies or castor mix. Just don't use methanol or nitro in the description and it should be able to arrive just fine. I'll keep everyone updated and again, thanks to all who support us and are wanting to help keep us rolling.

Got an email back from my stateside detachement, they are going to see what they can do to help include it in a military push package. I'll post address to send to once it's taken care of. I also got this from the USPS online customer service help desk
"Dear BYRON VANKIRK,

Thank you for your reply.

The individual Post Office has the final say on what can and cannot be shipped. You will need to contact your local Post Office for additional assistance.

If I can be of assistance to you in the future, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for choosing the United States Postal Service®.

Regards,

Dane H"

that tells me if your local post office accepts it, it's not an issue.

my ofna car and the smaller traxxas cars wont go 5 feet in my niegbors yard they have tall thick grass

lol..well qaart, my revo won't make it through the reeds around here to well either, but neither do. As far as fuel, I'm still too new to have a personal fav. I would say most 20%RTR's would suit pretty much everyone over here. I still don't have a stateside address available and probably won't till around the 5 or 6th after everyone comes back from the holiday break. No, we don't get one over here. But what i did get was some new stuff built on the track. I'll post more on that in my blog. Again thank you all for all your help and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

P.S. I'm not hungover this year..lol

if i have a prob with my car i usely try to steer it in the grass it stops the car in 5 feet

if its real hard to ship fuel over, maybe you should look into making some, i always wanted to and looked it up. from what i read rc fuel is, 2stroke oil, disel, and nitro, but maybe you can substitute nitro for alcohol, maybe 151 lol. just a thought.:whhooo:

try this :-) http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5877287/tm.htm

Just so I am clear our soldiers have to jump through a billion hoops to get fuel shipped to them in one of the richest oil produceing nations in the world. Irony knows no bounds.

nitro fuel isnt petroleum based, meaning it doesn't come from oil.

Ironically, when I was in Kuwait the Army was having trouble getting enough gasoline. Had all the JP8 we could want for but gas was a real problem for a while. It was a self inflicted problem, but a problem all the same.

Got a stateside address for fuel yet?

Finally got a stateside address

For all of you interested in donating 20% nitro to us here in Iraq, I finally got approval from our Rear D to start sending it. They are still on hold for a HAZMAT guy to get out of school to actually ship it here, but you can send it to them in the mean time. The address is as follows:

1SG, REAR Detachment
6-6 CAV SQDN
BLDG 20135 Hangar Access Rd.
Fort Drum, NY 13602

Once you ship, please post, (or pm me if you want to keep private) what you sent and when so I can keep track of what is supposed to be arriving and communicate that back to the rear so they can keep it together or hold if necessary before sending off container to here.

Again, thank all you for your support!!!

Help, Anyone? something tells me I missed my window of opportunity on this. Old threads die quick...lol:(

I am here. Broke as all get out from not working for three weeks is all. When i get my bills caught up you will be getting a gallon from me. I guess you have things set up so that when we ship this stuff to the Rear D they will know whom it is for?

Yes, Already have things arranged with Rear D to receive the fuel and hold it till it all arrives. I will be heading back home before too long and if there is anything there a gal or smaller, i'll be picking it up and sending it to myself. If you are willing to put it in a box and label it "hobby supplies" or something, let me know and I will PM you my direct mailing address for here.

As far as types of fuel. I believe everyone is running 20%Nitro /~12-16%oil. So far they are all traxxas 3.3's with one running an os set up in a revo....that i know of so far. I'm by no means an expert on fuel and assume staying 20% for the summer heat will work as well so long as it's not Low oil qty racing fuel.

Again, I also know the pain of the post holiday budget ( I had my case sent to the wife before she knew what hit her) and I thank everyone for whatever they send as well as on behalf of the people here that i will be forwarding it to.

so if i were to for example place an order from towerhobbies (or where ever) i would just fill in the address that you gave above into the shipping and PM you saying that its on its way?
just saw your other post about your track and what you said about it talking about 3 months. tell me whats good/fast (if that is possible?)

thanks btw for serving our country.
