With the extended chassis on the Savage, my Choice of bodies was limited and now the body would have to be removed every time I'd need the igniter, so, I decided to get creative and make things a little easier.

I got a remote igniter for an airplane for $7.99, and this is the only part I needed. It's spring loaded and it won't pop off.

I then notched out part of a cooling fin to run the wire through.

This is the entire power panel cut from a sheet of styrene. 2 2600 mAH batts in parallel, so they're still putting out 1 1/2 volts, but twice the mAHs. There's a toggle switch, center off, that directs power to the push button to ignite the glow plug, and in the other direction turns the button off and opens the circuit to the charging jack. (yellow arrow) The switch and button sit outside the new body and the batteries are inside where they can't be seen.

why you need remote start rolex? :D

That's what I was wondering. The last thing you need to do to this work of art is start it :hehe:

Just in case I ever see either of you, I'll be able to start it and run all 18 lbs of it into your ankles at 50MPH. Other than that....

BITE ME!

Right now I'm taking a break from painting the huge 1/8 Gravedigger panel truck, and once it's done you'll have a better idea of how it all works. After that's done....who knows? What else is there to do other than start it?

you should really look at patenting that if it hasnt already been done...becuase i know that when i had my savage, it was just a pain to carry around so many things and have to pull out a glow starter all the time ...

That might be worth a thought. I'd have to do one that's got a universal mount, since this one sits on a plate made for a rear fuel tank. This would strictly be for off roaders and not racers since weight would be a factor.

or shelf queens :D

seriously though ralph, that is pretty good work! very clean install to. how did you cut the fin out without mangling the others?

I took the head off, then went at it with a few different sizes of diamond dust dremel tips. Took about a half hour to get through and get the dust cleaned up. I mean DUST. So fine you couldn't feel it in your fingers.

Well, Racer, after getting the rear exhaust a while back, I started reading all kinds of bad reports. Now that there's an extra 2 inches from the engine to the shock tower where that exhaust would mount, the power curve might change. It will be a while till I get to try it out.
As far as the ignition system, I'll get up a few more pics later, and a better explanation for those of you who want to build one.

mint idea man id buy this any day what a good money maker also whats that red thing could again thats sits over the glow pulg :first_place::first_place::first_place::first_place:
