i dont have the money

i can buy parts to fix it tho, i got like $10

Do you have a power drill? If you alter the settings so there is alot less torque it will stop turning if the engine is flooded. Either that or save up and buy a roto start, its alot easier.

i think your best bet is to convert to a pullstart. Rotostarts are a hassle in my view. I switched my savage to a pullstart cuz my rotostart also gave out. Plus it will come out cheaper. Just my 2cents

ok, my drill sux and wont spin fast enough, so i said oh well ill go to the ole pull start. well none of my pullstarts match up!!! gosh, I'm screwed all the way around!!!

lol
My savage came with roto start and I've had no problems with it. I prefer pullstarts, although with the shell on, you can't start the car with a pullstart so!
Man your drill must be the worst if it doesn't spin fast enough! Get a dewalt lol

I have Milwaukee drill 18V and I have never got that to spin fast enough for the rotostart plate. Do I need to heat the drill up?

Don't know what savage you're talking about. I can start my bros savage with the shell on with no prob, unless you're using an escalade type body.

Oh well two of my cars have pull starts and i ccant start them with the shell on.
Also Jon2 i dont get what you mean when you say "do i need to heat the drill up"
I'm suprised no ones drill is fast enough to start an engine!
A standard bosch, black and decker or dewolt drill will do the job easy! But at the end of the day a roto start or pullstart is cheapest, just wait until you get more money.

You could try emailing the manufacturer of the roto start and ask them for old parts.

will an electric drill(cord) hurt if i start it with it on a low power setting?

OK, help me understand something. You are asking if someone here has the shaft of an electric motor that holds the pinion gear? Am I getting that right? Is this a joke? All these replies from folks essentially walking you through how to solve this problem and it never dawned on you to visit HPI's site for the manual on the starter? Add to that, in the time it has taken you to get to this point, claiming to have only $10.00, I could have collected enough aluminum cans to buy the whole rotostart set-up! I'm not necessarily knocking the initial question, it does have some validity, but the fact that you keep looking for this shaft after Revo Rancher told you it wasn't worth your time is where the ignorance shines. I know you want to get your rig rolling again, I understand your pain there, but come on, man. Use that lump of gray matter in your skull!

Oh, and I know he's gone, but that kurt guy is by far the biggest tool I've ever heard from! Christ what an idiot! Jon2 did a "Superfly" wrestling move by asking if he should heat the drill up first and this dink didn't get he was being slammed! Man, that is just thick!

What the hell is that? When people were bitching about kurt5f they had a reason. Most of his posts are in the ffa. read those before you talk stupid.

Are you referring to something I posted specifically?

danno, i think every one has sarcastic remarks in here so...

Only towards you AJ because your a idiot. You start threads looking for hand outs. Your infamous in here for that. Not sure if it hasnt rubbed in yet because your such a dumbass, but it isnt gonna work. You got your answer and your stupid ass should have gone and buy the $12 part about 2 pages ago on this thread. I've never heard someone have such weird problems with a Rc as you. Always something I've never even heard before, and makes me wonder what it is ya actually do with your Rc's.

Personally, I'd like to know who bigsouljaslim13 is directing his remark towards, because if it was towards me, I'd like to address this with him/her directly rather than clog this thread up any further.

This may be a bit late but is it the actual shaft that connects to your nitro motor? or is it the shaft inside the roto start?
