Hiya Chaps,

Sorry for the new thread but totally different subject matter to my other runnibg thread..

And you'll be glad to know this is not an issue...Yay

Subject is RAMPS....

I got a buddy who is an expert with bits of wood, he's come up with a great design for a portable ramp....

Not only is the ramp going to be portable but also it's going to be adjustable, in pitch i mean..

Very simple design too... We're going for 3 foot wide by 42" in depth, mainly dictated by what i can get in the back o f my car, he's gonna whack two angle pieces braced at the bottom together to form the ramp base.. then he's going to make a slot in each side, into that slot we will fit the top of the ramp via two slide threaded bolts.... this will give us the ability to change the angle of attack on the ramp.... on the outer edge we will fit two wing nuts one either side to fix it at whatever angle we like.... then were gonna whack some dowls underneath so the thing don't move around...

Sounds comlplicated now i've typed it and maybe i aint explained it too well but the drawings look great and he seems to think it will be perfect for our needs...

He reckon's he'll have it ready in a couple of days so i'll let you know how we get on with it...

If it works well i'll get the old digital camera on the case, is there anyway i can post pic's on here, coz i'd like you all too get a look at it if it works ok coz it's the simplest of designs...

Can't wait to get that big old revo airborne..

You can post pics by hosting them on a site, such as photobucket, and then posting the IMG tags (bottom one of the three) in your post. The pictures will appear in your post.

I have two adjustable ramps. 2 foot by 4 foot. Side by side. They are made out of light duty door hinges, rope and a few bolts. I made them so they fit in the trunk of my merc without having to remove them for day to day stuff like shopping.

The rope makes them adjustable. Lengthen/shorten changes the angle of the ramps. What I like about them is that I can hit the ramp coming and going.

Here's a couple pics so you can see:

The truck is a savage. Sorry the images are blury. They were snapshots from a video. The hole you see on the left of the second pic is where I cut holes to make handles. The two ramps fold flat and you can carry them like a brief case. a 2 foot by 4 foot brief case...
