i bought this car off of ebay, brand new still in the factory box. i get some 20% fuel, as recommended for break-in, and the book that came with the car says that the needles/idle are already set for break-in. so i fuel up the car, prime it, and it takes a few pulls to get it started. it gets started, then goes full throttle , but i havent done anything to it. i had to pinch the fuel line to kill the car, any idea why it would do this? its done it to me every time i get it started.

thanks

um, did u have the controller and car on? also did u check the servos to make sure that it wasn't at full throttle before u started it. and in the instruction book does it tell u the factory settings? i always go and do the stock settings my self when they say that they come factory set just in case they are off a little bit.

yes, i checked that all of the screws were the right # of turns out, and both the receiver and car were turned on. i made sure the turning/throttle worked correctly before trying to start the car, and it wasn't at full throttle before starting it.

yea, it's really strange, i couldnt figure out what was going wrong. i messed with the screws and got it to barely run, like it was choking out, then it would catch its breath and all 4 tires would spin and smoke, and i have to cut the fuel.

the carb screw? no its where its supposed to be, i can't recall off the top of my head how many turns out. i havent taken the air filter off to look at the carb though

TAKE IT OFF AND LOOK make sure that the carborator is all the way at idle and not at full

i just did :) do you have AIM or any type of messenger service so i can show you some pics, I'm not sure, this is my 1st nitro. looks wide open though

ok...with your finger OFF the throttle, once you take the airfilter out you should only see about a 1mm to 2mm gap in the opening to the carb. With your finger ON the throttle it should be wide open and make almost a full open circle.

If you finger if OFF the throttle and you see a wide open circle then thats your problem!!!!

put up some pics. You can either hit the "Post Reply" button at th bottom of this window and attach a file or you can upload pictures to your Gallery frmo the HOME page. Just click on GALLERY at the top of the home page and there should be an "Upload Photos" option at the top right of the screen.

i'm a dummy lol anywho, took off the air filter and the carb was wide open. servo reversing on the controller fixed it ;) thx for the help
