Okay guys, the NW Hobby Expo is coming up pretty quick. It goes from February 4th-6th at the puyallup fair. It's for cars, boats, airplanes, and trains. But it's more geared towards planes.
They have a swap meet with tons of stuff for sale. We've found if you can go on the first day, that's where all the deals are at. After that, you just find overpriced stuff.
Rain City Raceway has carpet racing at the expo. It's fun to watch the really good people go around the track. They will make you dizzy.
There will be a bunch of vendors advertising and selling their new products. You can usually find some good deals on some stuff. We saw a new $150 plane being sold for about $80-90 from the vendor. Too bad we passed up on it.
Also, they have a section for various clubs to advertise for new members. There's always a few raffles. Two years ago I won this huge 2-stroke plane engine. I had no use for it and we eventually sold it...lol
There's also airplanes, and a few cars and helicopters display for the show aspect. You can vote for best in show.
My dad and I always go to this expo. Sometimes we spend a bunch of money, other times we just come home with nothing. I think this will be our 3rd or 4th year going. I'm hoping I can get a good deal on a shockflier or maybe a RTF Mini Helicopter.
Anyhoo, if you're within driving distance of the event, you should come check it out. I know we got a few members in the northwest that might be interested. Also, if you pre-pay, you can get $3 off and avoid the big long lines.
