I went to the QURC / RCNT Bash this past weekend. It was lots of fun.
But!!
I was racing my NTC3 against a Schumacher Fusion 21.
Now I want the friggin thing. Man that car is fast!
My NTC3 is nothing to shake a stick at, with an OS 12 TR in it. But I could not keep up with the Schumacher!!
Anyone in here have this car, or no enough about it to tell me the goods and bads??
I'd appreciate it

Hey Ratzo,

I'm buying the Menac for sale in the forsale forum(4x4 with LSD). I did a REview in this forum on the Menace some time ago. Sick, sick power and excellent on and offroad handling. I was VERy impressed with the performance of the Limited Slip Ball differentials Many people will attest that the service from Schumacher in nothing less then stellar. The main problem with Schumacher's is their lack of parts avaliability @ most hobby stores compared to Traxxas, Losi AE etc.

Schumacher designs are know to be radically different from anything else on the market and they're all designed to get the fatstest claims of any RTR RC. My only possible issue with the Menace I drove for some time would be lack of integrity for bashing. I'm gonna drive the hell out of the Menace when I get it and I'll be sure to post my long term opinions of durability and tranny design etc.

That was very nice of you to take the time to post a detailed reply.
I feel that I would have to stock up on extra parts then.

yeah, they're really fast. I kinda want one now. Just for all the straight line speed. I mean, right now I know my ntc3 could probably hang with a fusion 21 up until about 45mph...but then after that i'd get killed.

Hey , RatzoRC I believe you might be able to keep up with him if he has the stock gearing , if you put in the high output , nova rossi turbo 15 motor and if you put on the 27 tooth pinion gear, 49 tooth spur gear combination for 2nd gear.:) The motor I am refering to is the nova rossi ns15s5 rated at 1.8 hp and 43,500 rpms.

Ratzo - After you drive one for a week you should get a feel for what parts you might be breaking and what you should maybe have on hand so one little broken A-arm doens't cause you a week or more in down time. I don't keep a stock of many parts for most of my RC's as it only takes a 10 minute trip to an LHS. I'll be buying some spare parts for the Menace though, just incase.

Kwong - I've never really driven one but I've raced against and seen plenty of Fusion's in action. I was able to outdrive a Fusion on two occasions with my 4-Tec pro with a Sirio .18 mod but on the long strights that fusion would eat me alive when it hit third gear. I've seen HSR's with a Fusion @ sea level consistently pulling 82.5MPH (radar verifired). If that's not a sick ass RTR RC then I don't know what is.

You guys seem to know your ishk... I need to know wether to buy a Ofna ultra 9.5 1/8 or a Menace 21... Dudes, help me out..; I got the money with no descision...

yep i just got my fusion like a week or two ago and its a rocket..... good luck keeping it on the road tho (upgrading from stock tires is a must)

It'll take you the better of 1 gallon to get that engine fully broken in. I got mine about a month ago and lemme tell ya, she's a monster. I even had the opportunity to race her on the track and she held up pretty well on the technical parts and kicked butt on the straights!

As far as the rubber tires go, I never put them on except for initial break-in (8 tanks). Afterwards, I stuck on some foams. Make sure you get the 2mm offset for the back if you're going to put on 30mm foams. There are clearance issues.

Also, what Kwong said about keeping up is correct. My brother's NTC3 powered by his RB V12 and proper gearing takes me off the line every single time, till I hit second gear. That's why I'm gonna go for the taller gears that are made for the tracks.
