You can get most of that dent out of the pipe with some creative plugs, water and a freezer. I've removed large dents from pipes before by plugging the stinger, fill it with water, plug the large hole the header connects to without spilling out any of the water, then put it in the freezer and let it freeze. The expanding ice will push the dent out. It may take a few freeze/thaw cycles depending on the dent, but at the very least, it will improve it.

You can pull the carb. ,an clean it!

Take needles out ,soak in denatured alcohol ,an use some Vaseline on the needles O-rings ,as they
do have tiny O-rings in which could be dried up causing air leaks!

That's what I would do for a temporary fix ,it would help trouble shoot!...

Yes, I totally agree with @cbaker65 !!! Provided there is no obstruction in fuel lines, a fuel filter (if you have one) or in the tank somewhere I would look towards a carb clean out and the orings. Just replace them... They are cheap and no need to gamble on them. Vasoline will work to lube the rings but the super hot trick stuff is the Associated Electronics 'green slime' It will work in your carb and is THE stuff to use for the orings in your shocks.
When you're done, let us know how it goes!
Best of luck!!! :thumbs-up:

Cheers guys I will start with that sometime today and see if I can get it running........
Sorry guys not started had some bits to do..... but hoping to get it done by the weekend and get out bashing again lol...... Will let you know....

Hi guys have been working on the car today and I'm happy to say it starts and goes lol..... but having a bit of an issue with full throttle it kind of slutters and dies but then comes back to life...... is the to do with it running too rich/lean.... or is it the back pressure from the exhaust as it's slightly damaged......
But I have to say holy shhh it's quick lol.....

Double check that you don't have any kinked or blocked fuel line/tank outlet etc. Also, make note of how full the tank is when this happens. These are just things to double check on a physical level. I would guess that your carb may need some adjustment. Also, what is your engine temps when this is happening? This is a good indicator of a leak or rich motor. You should have a steady stream of smoke from your exhaust but not outrageous. (another easy indicator of rich or lean conditions)

Also be sure your air filter isn't clogged up... Clean and oiled properties the way to be at all times!

The pipe dent may cause general performance issues, but I wouldn't think it would cause tuning issues. Odds are, your a bit lean on the high speed needle.

all fuel lines are cleaned and card has been cleaned out. The smoke is steady but quite oiley... so I'm thinking it's a bit rich but apart from that it's great to have it running again.

Cheers olds I was thinking the same.... but just needed confirmation from people.in the know..
Thanks....

You may want to clean out the muffler... You could just pull it off and let it drain... I'd be willing to bet it's been loaded up with oil and fuel from all the work and failed attempts at starting/not running right.
